I guarantee that the Jaxx will not lose today

The man must be some sort of a psychic or something!

Does Gallagher have the best ERA in the Midwest League?

Posted
He's tied with Sonnanstine for best era.

Technically Sonnanstine (who has been promoted but will still qualify) is ahead 2.545 to 2.552....and Gallagher just allowed two in the 1st so his ERA is rising as we speak...

Chiefs lead 12-2 in the top of the 3rd, still no outs.

Gallagher's ERA ---> 2.65. He'd have to go complete (7 innings, since it's a DH game) and not give up any more earned runs to get back to 2.55(2.55373, by my reckoning).

yeah they left Mike Cooper out on an island in the 3rd...without even warming anyone up until he gave up 7...

He finished 2ip (+ 9 batters faced in the 3rd) 14 hits, 13 r, 12 e, 1bb, 3k.

ERA on the day 58.5 and on the season goes from 3.3 to 5.71....OUCH

and Gallagher just gave up a 2-run shot..14-4 in 4th...7 Ks for Sean

Posted

Gallagher gives up another 2-run HR to make it 14-6 Swing.

He's been getting hit hard lately. Through July, he had given up 4 HRs on the season (one inside-the-park). He's given up 6 so far in August over his last 4 starts.

Yeah, rough start for Gallagher. I wonder how hard it is for a guy so young to keep his focus with such a big lead.

On the bright side, it's pretty nice to have your 1 and 2 hitters each with 4 hits. Fuld's BA is above .290.

His longest outing this month was 6IPs on August 4 (4 starts ago).

Gallagher gets pulled after 4.2IPs and won't get the win.

8Ks, 3HBP, 2BB, 6ER, 10H, 2HRs

I didn't hear what his pitch count was; he got yanked after the first BB.

Francisco makes an appearance and gets the 3rd out!

ETA: Per Nathan, pitch count was 103. The box score shows 2BB (not 1).

there were 2 walks...1 in 2nd, 1 in 5th...i missed one going through the box score...my scoreshee is too cluttered with lines and runs scored in this game!

I bet! Nice to see the breakout offense again! :D

I just figured I missed it. I've been having ISP problems, and the broadcast keeps timing out on me at the WORST MOMENTS (generally bases-loaded 2-out moments). Takes awhile to get caught back up.

Do you see anything out of sorts with Gallagher? I'm operating on the theory that it's toward the end of a long season -- his first full pro season -- and he may just be wearing down a little. He's had a great season regardless of whether he wins the ERA title (though I'm still pulling for that over his last few starts!).

Chiefs win game 1, going for the sweep in Game 2 (about 30 minutes)!

Just not as sharp. The curve isnt as tight, the fastball isnt as fast, the location isnt as precise. It will happen when you are 19 and logging 140 innings...

Thanks. That's what I was figuring, too.

Chiefs lose 4-2. Eric Patterson stole 2B & 3B on consecutive pitches in the 6th, though ... which was cool. 8)
