Just a bad slide by Corey. Now not noticing home plate was not covered is pretty big.

Kudos to Prior for making contact, though.

Prior missed the squeeze sign before that play... Corey was almost home. The Cubs missed 2 opportunities to score the same run.

Corey was also nearly standing on the third base bag when Prior hit his grounder, meaning Patterson had the full 90 feet to run. He did slide way too early, maybe because the bat was lying in the base path and the catcher was blocking the plate with his leg.

Either way, another leadoff runner who is wasted away. GRRRR.

Mr. OBP (Lawton) with another great at bat, so far as a Cub he's drawn one BB and had one other 3-2 (that I can recall) count. What's up? Is he trying too hard or has already bought into the Baker philosophy of swing at everything and anything?

Blame me. I was the one who doubted Corey would get home.

Prior, please no more hits this inning at least.

LOL!

Whwn Larry Bigbie was was Baltimore, I was at a Rangers/Orioles game @ Camden and there was a Bigbie fan club. The next day, he was traded to Oakland, and of course traded again to Colorado. I wonder what team those guys like now???

How did Corey get all the way to third on a throwing error?

Bunt, would've been out at first, but the throw sailed well wide of first and went way down the first base line.

Tie game.

wtf Neifi, dive for that?

I take it Nomar's back is out or something?

Eleventy billion batting titles in the AL, but when he comes to us, it's like he's made of glass.

Man, Prior sucks. He can't even ground out right.

I think you've gotten your point across.

And what point would that be?

Come on, don't play coy. You've expressed your displeasure with the sort of comment you've been making all game long numerous times. It's one thing to make a comment like that, it's another to repeatedly make them for almost every occurrence in the game.

I'm sorry. I couldn't tell from your response whether my point was that I was displeased by Prior's play or I was commenting on those that are.

When your curve isn't breaking properly and you can't get ahead with your fastball because you don't have good control, you're going to get into trouble.

Thanks.

Let's go, Prior.
