And Who will you root for if you werent betting. Your cross town want to be's or your in division rivals?

Personally, I'd root for the Sox, seeing as I'm not from Chicago and don't really hate the Sox like some posters here.

The Cardinals, however, sacrifice kittens to Satan and routinely feed on the brains of children before each game.

If you're talking money, the Cardinals (a healthy team) are better than the Sox, and I would bet on them.

If the Cardinals don't get healthy, then the Sox could take them. The Sox pitching staff is very deep, and a Cardinal lineup without a healthy Rolen, Walker, Sanders, and Molina, is just not as good, IMO.

Optimally, the Red Sox would win it all again, but that's just me because the Red Sox have always been my second favourite team, after the Cubs.

Personally, I would be rooting for Armgeddon to begin.... but I wouldn't bet on it.

That is when I pray for a short labor dispute (2 or 3 months) just enough to cancel the World Series, much like 94, and can't make it up. :D Many Sox fans still think they were going to win it all that year.

In all seriousness, I would bet on the Sox. A lot of it would depend on the health of the Cards. That being said, since I would bet on the Sox, I would also have to cheer for the Sox as well. It would be stupid to bet on the team you don't want to win if you really dislike both teams.

By the way...don't Cards fan want to lose so the new stadium stays on track? :D

A's are going to knock out the White Sox. I just think it will be so funny that during their magical season like one team owned them and they see them in the playoffs.

I'd bet on the Cards. I have too many friends who are Sox fans and gave me crap back in 2003. So I'm hoping for some serious blowback.

I agree with every one of your picks except the D-Backs. I can honestly say I have never seen a more pathetic division contender. Worse that the Royals 3 years ago. WAY worse. I've seen them live about 10 times this year and they are not a playoff team. San Diego can't possibly lose this division.

Oh, they can, and I think that Arizona will end up being the tallest midget.

If that was the World Series, I probably choose to watch episodes of the Surreal Life instead.

Don't like good fundamental baseball? ;)

You never know, it could always end up Atlanta and Oakland, but I think the Cards and Angels are the 2 best teams in baseball, and will meet in the Series.

The Cardinals would beat the White Sox. I doubt it happens, though, as I can't see the Sox winning two series to get there.

As to which team I'd root for, the Sox. An explanation is in order, I think; I'm originally from Evansville, IN (southern Indiana and big, big Cards territory) and have lived in B-town for going on eight years. I hardly know a Sox fan -- seriously I think I've met like three. I know tons of Cards fans, especially my old E'ville aquantances. Also, I absolutely despise the "smartest baseball fans" garbage the media spews out in relation the the Cards.

Besides, Cubs-Sox is totally different if you're not from Chicago or currently living there.
