  1. do you guys know what the cubs gave up....shouldn't be much if anything at all...low a prospect prolly
  2. 1310 the ticket in dallas is reporting this what do you guys think?
  3. i dont think you should open the can of worms about announcers and alcohol
  4.          Mike SHANNON ,Mike SHANNON ,Mike SHANNON ,Mike SHANNON ,Mike SHANNON check yourself before your riggity rack yourself...ice cube
  5. I'm a Cubs fan. I'll bring up that trade whenever I please. At least give me that. Fine! Dontrelle and I just hope you enjoyed your time with Matt Clement! As a preemptive strike against Lou Brock I'll say Adam Kennedy won a WS ring and Edmonds didn't :) Let's just change that from didn't to YET
  6. id 104731 pw 12345 getting cards talk in on it too
  7. i would take weaver for the cards....that would open up someone to be dealt for an outfielder...could be a good move
  8. abreu is to be a card any day now per cards talk  http://forums.stltoday.com/viewtopic.php?t=330688 Eck Spivey Pujols Abreu rolen edmonds Juan E Monlina It is all but done....Cause Cards talk is never wrong
  9. well how bout option D- Sign Mark Prior since he has cut the contract short and is going to arb. this year. You know he has always been a Card fan http://www.angelfire.com/ill/gambitmachete/prior.jpg       http://www.angelfire.com/ill/gambitmachete/cardinals.html
  10. he could be the next lou brock
  11. C pat is going to be trade(I think so) and has all the tool but doesnt have the glue to put them together(yet) would you take J Marquis for him?
  12. reminds me of some players like these http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=3180 except carp found his faster or this guy it took him 3 years to find his too http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=2131 All I am trying to say is he was considered the bluejay's ace before he got hurt...infront of roy. 02 he only started what 13 games? Geez give the guy a break he probally pitched some of those with a hurt shoulder. 2001 a 4.09 era isnt that bad in the AL. No he likely wont have an ERA under 3 again but do you honestly think Z would repeat his 04 performance or Prior's 03? Sub 3s are great accomplishments and not the norm for every year. I predict it will be a 3.24 and 18 and 6 Not to mention ERA are alittle based on your teams defense too
  13. I actually saw that article also but it read Missouri and Arkansas....btw how is your grill,Snaggles
  14. Dude, no offense, but could you take an extra minute or two and improve punctuation and grammar in your posts. I'm not exactly an English major, but your posts have got to be getting passed up by more than just me.----------good enough? EDIT: Please reduce the size of Pujols' mid-life crisis pic, too. ---He is not in a mid-life crisis, he is just showing that he doesn't use cork. Thanks! Nah, the cork is just further up the shaft. :P ummm...the secret is out

  16. Good points! I'd rather see what he does in 2006 before signing him, though. His 2005 was good, not great. If he returns to his early Oakland days... extend that contract, baby. agreed and look at the cubs...it will be similar dlee up for fa.....5 yr 70mill? prior....lol...if burnett gets 4/40 prior4/50 aram making 10+ 4yrs/42 i think wood making 10ish furcal like they say another 10 z....when is his payday....? (if i am wrong chime in and dont flame me) IT IS SO EXPENSIVE TO BE COMPETITIVE
  17. But it was for two years. That's why he had so much value. Think about it... Mulder will get at least $9 million, even if he took a discount. Burnett - $9 million Carpenter - $7 million Mulder - $9 million Pujols - $14 million---- 3M of 2007 thru 2010 salaries deferred at no interest- Rolen - $12 million Edmonds - $10 million-----This is a team option would like an extention he has stated....more deffered money? Izzy - $9 million $70 million on 7 players? I don't think so! so it isnt so bad...plus in the likes of izzy....you do have to have a closer and we have seen there mkt value lately
  18. Mulder is not from Arkansas, and he's not going to take a home town discount. I figure he's as good as gone. The very formidable rotation of Carpenter, Burnett, Mulder will last just one year, I fear. I really wonder how Reyes will pitch next year.. He's got ace-caliber stuff. Maybe he's ready to step in as the #3 in 2007? it is just hard for me to see mulder as a rental for all that we gave up for him...I see an extension b4 this season starts.
  19. this is what I am afraid of but like you said..(to make it relevant)...supply drives the price of demand in everything. OT do you think and extension for mulder will follow IF and IF we sign AJ?
  20. just asking how many times has kerry been on the dl?
  21. Milton Bradley is all i need to hear in that trade...i dont care if they could bring back the BABE and include him with that offer I would say no... Bradley....talk about trouble...and this is coming from a cards fan
  22. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/20050825-9999-lz1s25padres.html bottom of the article... Ryan Klesko stands to be the highest-paid Padre next year at $10.5 million. Giles is making $7 million this season. And teams such as the Cardinals, who tried to trade for Giles last night, might be in the bidding. Now I would jump at the chance to add him, but how in the hell has he fell to us in the waiver line? Only owed prob. 1.2 to 1.5 mill for the rest of the season. Why didn't the cubs claim him or astros...etc. Any way I find it hard to believe a 1st place team would trade him! Maybe the editor got this out late/wrong and meant they would be bidding on him in the offseason
  23. yeah it doesnt make sense to me either but if they fold b4 the 31st then I could understand but not till then.
  24. Sutcliffe said the "word around the ballpark" was that Flloyd was coming to the Cardinals. He didn't claim to have any inside information durring last night's game vs the diamondbacks hmmm...would give time off to our ofers and a good dh in the ws....if we can get there. Curious about his contract though.
  25. must just be me
