I had the great honor of asking questions to Nomar Garciaparra at a media session in the Diamond Jaxx home dugout around 4:00 CT this afternoon!

NSBB was able to get several questions to Nomar in the ten minute session! I will have the interview and pictures from the interview posted in the next 24 hours!

Here are the questions that NSBB was able to ask Nomar:

1) There has been discussion about the way that fans at Wrigley have treated visiting and home players. What advice would you give to the players getting booed and what advice would you give the fans that are impatient for a winning team?

2) Has your groin healed enough for you to play every day once you rejoin the Cubs or will you have to take frequent days off?

3) Do you want to return to the Cubs for 2006? Have you or your agent had any contact with the Cubs in regards to next year?

4) Who is more competitive, you or Mia Hamm?

5) What about fan interference? What do you feel about fans going for a ball on the field of play, whether it is fair or foul? What about a ball out of the field of play that a player has a chance at?

Thank you so much to Jeff Parker, General Manager for the Diamond Jaxx and Ron Potesta, Director for Media Relations for the Diamond Jaxx! In addition, thank you to the entire Diamond Jaxx organization for allowing NSBB to have Media Credential! Thank you to Nomar for taking time to answer our questions and thank you to all of you for making NSBB such a wonderful community!

Ya, no offense to any other posters, but I see no possible way DJAXXFAN doesn't get poster of the year. With a second place to Fred Hornkohl, in my opinion.

Hey all, thanks for the nice comments. The past 2 days have been so enjoyable to say the least. As a fan of the Cubs and Diamond Jaxx I cannot begin to express how thrilled I have been to be able to line up interviews with several players and coaches and to have the opportunity to interview Nomar today.

I feel it's appropriate to thank Tim and all of the Admins and Mods. They have worked very hard to keep the high standards of this site in place. All of the posters need to be thanked as well for the great things that they are bringing to this site. The reason this site is able to have broadcasters, media, and the ability to interview players is because of the credibility of this website. With that being said, the interview with Nomar was a culmination of many things.

The Diamond Jaxx organization is a class act. We owe a great amount of appreciation and thanks to Jeff Parker, Ron Potesta and the rest of the Diamond Jaxx organization. As I mentioned earlier, I will have pictures and the answers to the questions posted tomorrow. The media guys from the Jackson Sun were a part of the session. The guys at the Sun do a great job and I know that you will enjoy their report of the day with Nomar! Thanks again!

Thanks, DJAXX. I look forward to reading his answers to the questions. However, I more look forward to him suiting up with the big league club and playing. (getting very excited about that....!)

Fans are great, I mean, if you're asking me that then that's the only way I know the fans. They expect a lot out of us and we expect a lot out of ourselves, probably more so. They're great. I mean, they're there every day supporting us back in those stands and you can't ask for anything more as a ballplayer. I know we're giving it our all every day and they're there supporting us every day.

Has your groin healed enough for you to play every day once you rejoin the Cubs or will you have to take frequent days off?

I don't really know yet. I'm sure they'll be smart, Dusty's so great about giving guys days off, regardless of injuries or not, healthy or not. I'm sure that will be determined but I think it'll be a thing where throughout the rest of the year I'll have to take days off and at the same time, I might just be filling in for the guy who is doing a great job right now too and I understand that as well. I don't expect to play every day when I come back. I expect to just help out in whatever capacity they want me to.

Do you want to return to the Cubs for 2006? Have you or your agent had any contact with the Cubs in regards to next year?

Yeah, I'd like to, I'd definitely like to. That stuff will get taken care of in the offseason and I'll worry about that in the offseason. No, not at all.

Who is more competitive, you or Mia Hamm?

Gosh, I don't know. We don't compete with eachother so that's good.

What about fan interference? What do you feel about fans going for a ball on the field of play, whether it is fair or foul? What about a ball out of the field of play that a player has a chance at?

I worry about the fans' safety. It is a ballpark and with line drives and everything I think that fans need to be protected. There's a lot of stuff flying around there.

Greetings again and thanks for the nice comments. I'm about to go and drop off the pictures from yesterday. In addition to the interview pictures I was able to go on the field and get BP pictures as well as pictures before the game started. I'll get them posted ASAP!

Outstanding!

Thanks. I have a bunch of pictures from the dugout but I thought that those were the best. I do have a picture of Nomar waving to my wife (she was taking the pictures) that I need to put with them.

I'm about to start loading the rest of them. I was able to get some great pictures on the field. I hope you all enjoy them!
