Chiefs win and sweep the Dragons! Fourth win in a row, and another shutout for Chiefs pitching.

Jaxx are trying to finish the Stars for a sweep, 7-3

Sing is 3-4 (all singles) tonight to put his average up over .300... not bad for a guy who strikes out all the time! :D

Meanwhile E-Patt is 0-3, but with 2 walks and 0 strikeouts. I'm more interested in the latter two stats than his hitting, which I think he has proved more than capable at that level. His walk rate, it seems to me, has declined a bit since the beginning of the year, and now stands at 42 in 84 games. That's solid but not spectacular for a guy who profiles as a leadoff hitter. Meanwhile, his strikeout rate was fairly close to one per game, but he's been making more contact recently and he now has 69 strikeouts in 84 games. I'd like to see him cut down on that rate, but I'm encouraged by the improvement in that area as of late.

I'll take 81 walks out of anyone over the course of a 162 game season. I think that's as spectacular a rate as you're gonna see from a top of the order hitter in the MLB. I'm not gonna argue with you on the Ks, though.

Ugh, Tony Gwynn steps up as the 8th batter of the inning and as the tying run

Looks like that Sing HR was a lot more meaningful than it looked at the time! (btw he is awesome)

Ryan Harvey went 3-3...up to .273...he's sizzling. If he finishes the season above .280, does that change anyone's opinion on him?

Well, it will mean that he is beginning to put the bat on the ball, but his walk rate is still quite low. Getting on base at a good clip will make him a top prospect in my book.

I'm happy to see Van Buren strike out the side, Marmol continue his domination of AA and Grant Johnson go 6 scoreless with 8 Ks and only 2 walks. Nice.

Pretty much solidifies him as my #2 prospect in the Cubs' farm system.

Brownlie with another strong relief outing. I wish he would let me off the hook and just suck all of the time.

Carlos Marmol is better than a lot of other players. I didn't want him in AA, but he's shown he can handle it. He better be on the 40-man after this season.

Yesterday was Johnson's best game as a pro. Any scouting report on what he's throwing these days? I know he's got the sinking fastball. Is he still in the 87-91 kind of range velocity-wise, or in a career-game like last night is he a little faster than that?

Is he using the slider as his second pitch, and does that look very good?

Why was Harvey taken out? Anything serious?

I listened to the post-game and nothing was mentioned. I think it was just that Harvey played both games of the doubleheader yesterday, and the Chiefs were up 7-0 today, so Harvey was given a breather.

I understand it's customary for big leaguers on rehab assignments to buy dinner for the team. Do you think Greenberg got the honor?

Had I checked the board I could've found out for you today. Hold that question, it'll get answered
