Looks like either Nevin wants to ride the pine in SD or perhaps SD can pull a deal w/ LA for Weaver.

Wonder how hard it'll be going to work day after day KNOWING you're not wanted there. Would he still be able to give 100% effort to the organization?

I believe Nevin said that he wouldn't mind being traded in California, but going across the country was unacceptable to him for personal reasons (family, etc.).

He similarly nixed a trade to Cincy a couple years ago, he probably feels the same way he did then. I think he's a real pro and will handle it just fine.

 

He played left field a couple years ago, was his defense adequate? If he can defend in left, does anyone think we can get him for Mitre and have SD eat some of his salary.

Doesn't matter unless we're not one of the 21 or so teams he doesn't have a no trade clause to. He only has a limited one. If he goes someplace he didn't say he wouldn't, he's gone.

If Dusty would play Murton, then we wouldn't have to keep looking for a left fielder. Otherwise, Holly is not the answer and Nevin, based on his career averages, would be an upgrade over Holly as long as nevin can defend the position.

Nevin is absolutely horrible in the outfield, which explains why they don't play him there anymore. Nevin makes Dubois look like a gold glover.
