Jerome is out pitching Morris (even with all his problems today).

6-4 Cubs

Yeah, I know. From the tone of this game thread, you'd swear the Cubs were getting beaten 10-0. Weird.

Go Cubs!

I just think that many feel that with the lineup the Cards ran out there today, it shouldn't even be close.

Williams is still out there.

He's gonna have to roll the ball up there pretty soon.

LOL

More evidence to show that Cardinal fans are not, indeed, classy fans. There has to be a cop there in the pen to protect Dempster and the Cubs.

Now if we can just find a way to keep the Cards from "pecking away" at these leads!!! I get very uncomfortable with teams that keep finding ways to stay close inning after inning.

Too many times they find a way to finish us off in dramatic fasion at the end of the game!

I can't watch the game, so who's gonna come in for Williams soon?

Looks like Wuertz.

Thanks! We really need our bullpen to carry us through this! Yesterday was a really tough loss and with Pujols, Sanders and Rolen out we have no reason not to take 2 out of 3 from these guys! Good teams make teams having injury problems pay for those problems! It's time we become a "good" team here!!

JW is still in the game and I like the move. He only has 95 pitches so this maybe his last if not one more.

I'm reading the new Vineline while watching the game...

In the Q&A with Dusty Baker, Dustrag had this to say...

"He (Neifi) was pretty close to meaning as much to us as DLee has meant to us, offensively and defensively."

Wow.

Oh boy. Do you think they share a room when they go on the road?

On the other hand, JW is our 5th starter and Morris is one of their big boys. No one expected him to give up 6

Yeah, but this is baseball. Anything can happen on any given day. Sure if the Cards ran that line-up out there every game, then over the course of a 162 game season, we should expect them to not do very well, but to expect things to go that way in one particular game? True, the Cubs haven't played all that well (Williams was less than brilliant, Walker's error), but they're winning.

What do we care about more? Criticizing the Cubs or cheering them on to victory?

Speaking of the stats Fred, have you ever gotten the Cubs' record in a game where DLee goes yard?

CUBS are 17-8 when Derrek Lee hits at least 1 HR.... 31-40 when he doesn't

Go CUBS !!

Shhhh !! I posted it already right after he hit it !!

I really really really hope he was just talking about April.
