...so you're saying I can't gift the Cubs a starting pitcher because they realize they need it? And instead I have to give them another infielder?!?

Didn't know the Cubs would do it due to the injuries with the pitching staff. I will say, kudos to the organization for letting him stay on with the team so Taillon can get 10 years of service time, he deserves that accomplishment with all that he has gone through early his career.

Hardly surprising. He can’t get major league hitters out anymore. He was already on a tight leash coming off the IL and picked up where he left off.

Counsel and Hoyer aren’t foolish enough to keep attempting this failed experiment. Thanks for those playoff starts Jamo. Enjoy your millions.

Absolutely. As much as we like to think the Cubs' are in a unique situation with as many pitching injuries, they're not that unique. Many teams have pitching woes; Lucas Giolito picked up almost 30 of the most ineffective innings across baseball for the Padres, as an example. Between August 4th and September 1st, there's a good chance some MLB team is going to be running on fumes for MLB pitching and the choices of who to pick up will be incredibly thin. A "game-shape ready" Jameson Taillon, even with how bad he's been, will probably appeal to someone.

Yes, forever will be thankful for those big time -  step up starts in the playoffs last year.  And in fact the way he finished the regular season was critical to us getting home field vs. San Diego.   I wish he could have found something coming off the IL, I really do.  Sad, but necessary.
