So maybe Rojas plus some guys outside the top 30 gets Detmers. Maybe Rojas and Ayers gets Detmers and Adell or a pen arm. One stop shopping: Detmers, Adell and a pen arm. Figure out who has to go.

Most of the smoke out there is that the Cubs are invested in a controlled SP. 

This is just my opinion as well, I think the FO knows what the perception of last year's deadline was outside and inside the clubhouse and will try to remedy that.

We'd probably send them an arm back to get through the season at this point right? Rea, etc.

Could do that, yeah. Would feel bad for Rea a bit in that scenario; he's been such a trooper for the Cubs.

Yeah I think especially from the Angels perspective you've gotten your big fish and so you might prefer ~3 medium fish on your second go-around.  To the discussion yesterday Kepley/Ayers/a pitcher feels pretty reasonable.

I go back to Matt's article yesterday. I think Owen Ayers is the lynchpin there. Which probably says a few things all at the same time. That the Angles really like him. That the Cubs really like him.

Those are the two smoke was billowing around yesterday and weren't in the lineup and I've got nothing out there to suggest it's changed. Doubt it's it (expect a good third piece?) but I think those are the names at the top with the Angels.

I have far less of a feeling on the Mariners though.

Those would be the main two, I think. Yes. Especially looking at how the lineup situations went yesterday. There were four notable names missing from affiliates and those two were the highest ranked of the bunch. Kepley did come in late, but I think a Hartshorn knock forced it.
