It's a weak crop of rookies in the NL this year, so he probably gets *some* votes just because a lot of guys are going to end up on at least one ballot.  That said I'd guess I'd guess ROY voting to skew heavily towards pitchers.  Misiorowski or Burns are probably going to win it even with relatively low volume IMO.  And I'd bet Cade Horton gets at least as much love as Shaw.

Why not Horton? He has had a better year than either pitcher you mentioned. I don’t think Burns gets any consideration. Misiorowski started great, but his year isn’t better than Horton either.

I hate it, but i think it's Collins right now with Baldwin not far behind and Horton behind him. If Matt had started hitting a month earlier he'd be in the thick of it, but he waited for too long.

This I can agree with. But IMO if a pitcher is picked it should be Horton. He has the most innings and has been the most consistent and best overall rookie pitcher.

I do think that if Horton is able to throw another 25-30 innings this season and finishes with a sub 3 ERA, the optics on that alone might give me a case for it, but it still seems unlikely given his peripherals are more just OK than particularly good.

I'm honestly not sure how you could justify that

Collins going from an also-ran bench prospect to this tells me that prospecturbation is mostly a waste of time.

Horton is pushing real hard. After tonight he's sitting at a 2.88 ERA in 93.2 IP. He has about 5 more starts left so he should finish in the 120 IP range.

Cade Horton to me is the favorite to win. Shaw should get some votes tho

Yeah, like some people mentioned, Cade has way better chance than Matt.  Cade has been really impressive in the last 7 games or so, which I didn't expect.  He's the best SP for the Cubs at the moment.
