It's a give and take between that and other factors.  You move PCA down you have a number of RHH in a row, and other teams have their version of Brasier or Tyson Miller last year that can mow down RHH pretty well, especially if we're talking about non-elite bats like Kelly, Swanson, Shaw, etc

I’m aware of all of that. Counsell gave up on Turner hitting cleanup back in April or may and now Busch is at the bottom of the order when the pen comes in.

I think the Busch/Turner vs lefties debate would be a LOT different if we had any faith in Turner.

My main concern isnt so much in season as yes Busch needs rest days and doing ot against tough lefties is only natural.

But

My concern is during the postseason, not sure how each potential playoff teams are stacked with LH SP that will start in postseason and lefties overall with the pen, im just not comfortable having to start these series with Turner and Turner at 1B despite the numbers, and why I think Busch should get as many opportunities now against lefties to get himself ready.

Plus, you know these teams are going to stack up their pen with lefties for these series against the Cubs so I hope Hoyer will be smart enough to address that at the deadline with the bench.

Exactly.  If the Cubs run into the Phillies in the playoffs, is Busch not going to start against that trio of lefties?  He's already shown he can run into a home run every now and then vs LHP.  If they had someone better than Turner I could understand the logic..but they don't

Right and you know theyre gonna stack the pen with lefties...

I dont know, I get the reason but just not keen on having Turner be that guy to have to count on in the postseason

Exactly.  At this point, I want to see Long get the call up and platoon with Busch rest of the way

Defense never rests.

Sorry for the late reply.

Isn't Busch a GG caliber 1B? I know he is not PCA defensively but he is pretty damn defensively himself.
