Round 1: LHP Mark Pawelek, 1,750,000

Round 28: LHP Michael Greenhouse

Most likely stating the obvious, but Pawelek's contract isn't a major league contract, correct?

Nope.

Not a signing, but according to Bob Brenly on the air, his son isn't going to sign with the Cubs. He's going to college and it was more of just a nice gesture.

Well, Davy Gregg made me look dumb. I'll have to smack him around when I see him. ;) USC has a glut of outfielders for next season so we (as in Carolina) shouldn't miss him too much. Not sure how successful he will be in the Cubs organization, but one thing is for sure, he will work hard.

Not an official signing, but just a blurb I found on Dylan Johnston (4th round pick, High School SS)--

Dylan Johnston isn't going to wait to start his professional baseball career

Dylan Johnston isn't going to wait to start his professional baseball career.

"I want to sign," said the shortstop and recent Chandler Hamilton graduate about five minutes after the Chicago Cubs drafted him in the fourth round of the major league draft Tuesday. "This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid."

Johnston became the first Arizona high school player selected in the draft in what turned out to be a down year in the state. The last time it took this long to select an Arizona high school player in a major league draft was 1996.

That should make things a weeee bit easier. :)

I'm going to guess that Roger Evenson has signed since he's listed on the Boise roster.

Same goes for Scott Hode, Brandon Taylor, and Michael Hyle.

I read somewhere that Mark Holliman signed. Anyway I can find out what his signing bonus was?

I've been looking around and can't find out wha this signing bonus was. It'll come out eventually.

A bunch of new signings besides Holliman today.

Are the Cubs low balling Dylan Johnston,he said he wanted to go pro.

IDK, but I sure would like to get at least ONE decent positional prospect out of this draft, and right now he seems like our best bet.

Updated with the new signings. Although Holliman is expected to sign soon, he has yet to be officially inked so I took him off. Once he signs, Dylan Johnston will be the only remaining pick left unsigned from the first ten rounds. He said he wanted to go pro, but I haven't seen anything about the negotiations since the draft.
