For the first time this season, I can actually put on my "believe" bracelet and actually really seriously without a doubt, believe, that this team can do some fun things.

If you've had yours on this entire season, you're a better wo and/or man

than me.

I'm proud of myself for not throwing it away

It's funny that you posted this tonight.

Throughout the early part of the season I would take my bracelet off for various reasons, shower, work, etc. Sometimes I would forget about it but then the Cubs would win a couple and I would think about it. Almost without fail it seemed everytime I consciously sought it out and put it on the Cubs would suck it up that day and lose badly. Finally I said screw it. I'm not going to wear it anymore. That was one week ago today.

They went on a tear and won 6 straight. I really wanted to wear my bracelet but I feared jinxing them. After Lee's 5-5 performance I was inspired to wear it once again. If the hottest hitter in the league can wear one without placing a jinx then I could too.

Today was the first day I have worn it and they won. From here on out I will wear it everyday. Unless of course they drop the next 3 in a row.

I give you credit for putting it on in the midst of a winning streak. I know I wouldn't have the stones to do that.

I'm sure there are quite a few people digging for their "Believe" bracelets right about now and the "believe" bracelet phone lines are flooded.

Also, I am in no way admitting I'm a Cubs bandwagoner cuz I haven't had the strength (audacity?) to wear my "Believe"bracelet throughout their early season struggles. I still have my Cub tattoo that I haven't been able to wash off yet

i took mine off after the 6th loss in a row. . . . . . .i've not worn it since, and don't plan to.

I've found mojo in not wearing it :?

The only time this bracelet leaves my wrist is from when I go to bed till right after I shower.

And it appears that when I don't wear a Cubs shirt, we win... so ever since our last loss, I have had to wear old soccer shirts and cross country shirts.

talk about superstition and not wanting to jinx - My wife and kids left last Thursday to go to Minnesota to visit her family. Since they left the Cubs have not lost...I was tempted to tell her to stay for another week, or until they lost. But they came home last night and the Cubs still won, so I felt better that that was not the jinx...

I won't give the boring details of all the silly little superstitious things I 've done over the years, but after reading these I can't help but think we're all a tad bit insane. :willynilly:

Same with me! I was tempted to put on a Cubs hat today, but I decided against it.

Without that tad bid of insanity we wouldn't really be CUBS fans, would we ?

I didn't get mine until a few days after the season started, and it took me a while to get into the routine of wearing it. When the Cubs were 12-17, I started wearing it every single day (out of spite). Since then, the Cubs have gone on a great run, and I will continue to wear it every day... you gotta "Believe"!

Funny, I went through the same exact process you did. I took it off when we went through our tough stretch a few weeks ago and then we started winning. So I haven't had the balls to put it back on for fear of something bad happening. I'm going to the game next Tuesday night, so I may hold off until then when we will hopefully be talking about an 11 game winning streak!

I have not removed mine since it came in the mail to me..

Same here except for when I got bored in class and for a strange period of time of like a day or two when I lost it.

My Believe bracelet broke and then Cubs started winning... Now I got a new one and they're still winning...

I took mine off a couple of days before Prior got hurt. When he got hurt ( after much debate) I put it back on because I thought there is no way our luck can get worse so I might as well wear it. My girlfriend thought I was a freak for even thinking my bracelet could have something to do with the team winning or losing. I just let her read some posts on this thread - thank you all for letting her know I am not the only one in the world!

Is there a specific arm it should be worn on? I change mine with every defeat, (well, alternate, I don't have 40-odd arms) to change the luck.

my bracelet broke at work one day, which was very strange, i think the cubs won that day so i didnt buy another one until the winning streak ended (which wasnt very long)

then after the last game debacle in atlanta i cut my bracelet off in anger.

will not buy another one until i truly believe again, maybe after july 31 :D
