I  wonder if he's been dealing with it for a while. Would make sense given the extended slump

I'm hoping that's what it is. At least it would explain (in part) why he's looked off at the plate. 

Good for Vasquez too. Only got 1 at bat earlier this season I think.

Paredes missed a day with a shoulder last week, so yeah that's probably what it is.  A little surprised it's Vazquez instead of Mastro.

Bote was on the active roster though, so if there is an IL stint too there's another player on his way to the MLB club.  Given that Bote's playing time disappeared once Paredes was acquired and Vazquez is also a RHH IF with more defensive flexibility, it'd be a little surprising if it wasn't connected.

Sure, maybe, that's why I phrased it as a question.  But dumping Bote opens up the 26 man spot for Vazquez and the 40 man spot for Hollowell in one move, so additional moves are possible but not necessary.

Zero with that salary.  Maybe once he clears waivers and they wouldn't be on the hook for the remainder of the $5 million.

Bote's slam will always be legendary. It didn't work out but I don't think it was a bad gamble at all.
