No roster moves announced yet.

He’s not in the 40 man, so either someone needs to be DFA’d, or someone like Alzolay needs to go to the 70 day IL

Alzolay seems like a logical move but Madrigal DFA would be a bigger relief

I expect very little out of Bote but to his credit his under the hood numbers at Iowa are as good as they've ever been.  And even if he's replacement level that's a substantial upgrade on what we've gotten from Madrigal.

I would be fine with him up and Madrigal down. At least he has a little pop in his bat. I imagine one of the pen arms will be put in the 60 day IL. Hope this is for Madrigal and nothing happened to Wisdom, Morel of Busch to make this move.

I like it. Bote, at least, has some pop in his bat. Better bench guy than Madrigal. I would rather see him in the line up against a left handed pitcher than Madrigal. Not a move that moves the needle much, but I do like the decision.
Next, when Wicks comes back, IMO that should be it for Kyle. Have to start making tough decisions and put the best team they can in the field.

Apparently Masto has also fallen behind Bote.

As well he and Madrigal should have. As has been beaten to death, Bote is very likely to continue to be a bad MLB hitter, but there's no point going glove-first with Mastro and Madrigal when neither of them are really any good with the glove.

I don't think anyone thought Mastrobuoni was a 'glove-first' option, but that he is playable on the IF and he provided speed and platoon advantage.  Madrigal is good with the glove, even if he made a bad play at an important time recently.
