Why are we moving our gold glove Lfer to def?!? lol very bold prediction

Cause he still has a goldfish's arm at best? The article today with "56" for his arm strength still seems quite high to me.

When 'walking' is your calling card as a left fielder, I don't think you should be the left fielder.

I appreciate I'm on an island with my Happ thoughts, but I was disappointed when he signed an extension. Just never been a fan. (aside from the opening day leadoff homerun, then he was my favorite player for a couple minutes..)

Cubs make a deadline deal for a pitcher from Cleveland, and a 3B rental from somewhere else

You can have whatever take you want.

but I can call it stupid too.

bc it is. Give me 3 war noodle arm Happ for $20mill everyday and play him in LF where he has a shot to win his 3 straight gold glove. Yep that’ll do.

Aren't these supposed to be BOLD predictions? lol. I'm swinging for the fences.

Busch surprises and hits 30 dongs, nearly wins ROY.

Morel ends up playing all over and hits 40 homers and is an All-Star.

Happ sets career highs in homers, wins 3rd straight GG.

Imanaga actually wins ROY.

Hendricks posts a 3.25 ERA and a similar FIP, signs another team-friendly extension.

Adbert saves 40, is an All-Star.

Hoerner goes on a 20-game hit streak.

Bellinger hits 30 homers again.

Suzuki finishes top 5 in MVP voting.

Cubs make playoffs, don't win it all.

Calling my bold prediction 'stupid' seems a bit aggressive and tells me you didn't understand the assignment. Good for you!

Morel leads majors in Homers.

imanaga and Steele become a great duo atop the rotation

cubs win 88 games just not quite enough to truly contender for a WS

You must have some other players having bad seasons if Morel leads majors in homers and Imanaga and Steele become a great duo atop the rotation and the Cubs "only" win 88 games.

In fairness, in 1987, Dawson lead the league HR, Moreland and Durham had 27, Sutcliffe lead the league in wins and they only managed 76 wins.

- Shota Imanaga has a better year than Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
- Michael Busch plays well enough to move into everyday starter, rather than "platoon option".
- Garrett Cooper turns into the everyday DH, and enjoys a career year in HR after hitting 17 last year.
- Jordan Wicks has many games that remind us of Mark Prior in his prime
- Cubs/Reds battle for the division, while the Cardinals stay closer to being mid or worse

(See .. I can do more than just run the HR Derby! 😉)

Seiya finishes top 5 in MVP

Busch wins ROY

Morel takes a leap offensively, but cannot be trusted to play 3B after a few months (probably not too bold) and is traded prior to 2025 opening day.

Wicks struggles and the rotation in general is a problem
