The Cubs have lost 4 straight games with 3 of them having the opponent starting a pitcher with an ERA over 6 for the season

yeah forget about the horsefeathers lineout off the knob of the bat horsefeathers, they are in this spot because they couldn’t beat literally some of the worst starters in baseball.

worst cubs loss since….?

I don’t see it happening either.  Nice season, lots of good things I didn’t see coming.  But not quite enough to win these crucial games down the stretch.

Unfortunately the majority of those good things are leaving the team in the offseason. Good horsefeathers luck replacing them

Exactly. I'm having a hard team seeing how they end up getting better next year, and they aren't even very good now.

I don't know, at least a few days ago.

I would say the 2018 WC game but I remember being so fed up with that team it didn’t bother me as much as it normally would have.

Canario never did play. horsefeathers send him down if Ross literally refuses to use him. God forbid we send someone up who might get an extra base hit and ruin all the infield single and double play groundout fun

God that was so gutting. I refused to believe they could pull out a win until they got to 2 strikes and 2 outs. I thought “wow maybe they can get a swing and miss and actually pull it off and I can get those good feelings I used to get 4-5 times a week and miss and legit enjoy my Saturday night”

instead the exact opposite

What they are doing with him makes absolutely no sense. Why is he here instead of getting minor league at bats?  What is the situation where he can actually help the team based on how they are using him?  The answer - He can't.  So why is he here?  Call Mervis up, get a 3rd catcher, another guy who can pinch run,  Any of those would be more valuable right now.

one of the worst cubs losses in years

I know I just said I’m gutted and I am to some degree but honestly 2-3 losses this week bothered me more than this. When you start to lose regularly the sting starts to lessen. One of the losses to the Rockies i think I was sulking for a couple hours. But this is the 7th time I’ve experienced a loss in the last 10 days and even in one of the games they won it was a miserable experience until the end.

Dansby says it was "a good learning experience for us."

you mean like, go catch the ball when it deflects of the pitcher and end the game instead of hoping for a good hop?

I would love to see a clear camera angle of that entire play.

no accountability. it would be nice to hear some self awareness from somebody

I legit know how much WAR Dansby has produced this year but I’m just so fed up with seeing him right now. I don’t care how good his defense is (and we’re paying him $177m to make plays like the one that tied the game.) I can’t accept a dude hitting 5th that randomly can’t hit for 6+ weeks.

Move his ass down until he starts hitting Ross. I’m so sick of seeing Bellinger get on base only to realize Dansby is now up and about to strike out again.

sure looks like he slowed up and played the hop on purpose... not saying he definitely would have caught it, but it wouldn't have been any worse than letting it drop

Yeah.  I just watched the replay from the Arizona broadcast about 10 times and came to the same conclusion. It appears he made the judgment that he could pick the ball up off the bounce and throw the runner out rather than risk diving for it.  I still don't know that he would have caught the ball if he went for it, but it sure looked like he could have.

Dansby is going to hear a lot of boos this week

I doubt it.

I was at the Cubs Season Ticket Holder event today and they had bios for all the Season Ticket reps up on the video board.  For the question, "Who is your all time favorite Cubs player?", at least 3 of them answered Dansby Swanson.  Not their favorite from this year, but EVER!
