I don’t care, I still love Willy

Willson crushing the Cubs is the least predictable thing ever.  Now 10-25 with an OPS over 1.000 against the Cubs this season.

Did you mean least or most?

I honestly don’t remember the last time any starter has gone 7+ innings. Feels like it’s just not a thing anymore.

EDIT: Taillon in NY I guess

Looks like the Cubs have had 10 of them this year(Stroman 3, Steele/Smyly/Hendricks 2 each, Taillon 1), so it happens once every 10 games or so.

Before Taillon it was Hendricks on the 29th and Stroman on the 20th, so the pace has slowed down a little even with the London trip/ASB

I for one am shocked that making no effort to actually get Goldschmidt out with Arenado on deck didn't pay off

3rd time in Merryweather's last 4 outings that he's given up runs and 4th time in last 7

ERA of 10.29 over his last 7 appearances.

I can't recall the Cubs getting screwed on this many should have been ball 4 actually called a strike calls as they have this year.

Fulmer pitching the 8th inning of a 1 run game the Cubs have to win is a thing thats happening.

Edit: and of course he walks the leadoff man.

Fulmer is clearly not a high leverage pitcher this season.  I know we don't have a ton of great options but come on.

Fulmer has been excellent for like 2 months running, I get that he was bad out of the gate but at a certain point we gotta let go of the idea that he's a mop up guy being thrust into late inning spots.

So, if they trade Bellinger,  are we looking at Tauchman full time in CF and Young/Mancini ( Mervis) at 1B the rest of season?

Trade Stroman and Wesneski comes back to start in rotation?

It's not that, he's very obviously struggled in high leverage situations and been much better in low leverage.

I would guess Tauchman is probably tradeable, as well and the hope will be to find some ability to get Perlaza in the lineup.  Mervis will get 1b.  Wesneski and Brown likely will see starts.  Maybe even a Jordan Wicks start come September or two.

3rd time in the last 6 appearances he's walked 2 guys.  Dude scares me in high leverage situations.
