If anything, this game was another case of having to severely outplay an opponent to win because of a penchant for giving away free chances with turnovers.

The Bulls badly outplayed the Knicks, twice, but almost blew it, twice, from the turnovers.

Imagine how good they could be if they'd knock that stuff off....

Oh, I know. Right now the Bulls are at a Detroit/Cleveland level, but they'll probably finish with a record around the Orlando/Atlantic winner level because they simply don't take care of the ball.

Think of it this way: Since the Bulls started 3-14, they've gone 14-4. Of the four losses, one was a 1-point loss to the Mavs that they led by 10 in the fourth, and 2 with 13 seconds remaining (absolutely gave that one away). Another was a 7-point loss in Milwaukee where the Bulls came all the way back from a 9-point deficit to tie the game with a minute remaining before falling apart. A third was a home loss to the Nets where the Bulls blew a 6-point lead with 3 minutes remaining. And the fourth was a home loss to Detroit where the Bulls had a lead, but gave way to a 14-4 run late that put the game away.

They've been in every game they've played since the beginning of December, and though they've had a favorable home schedule, they're beating the good teams, too (Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Memphis, Orlando, Philly, Boston, Knicks twice). The only teams I see right now that clearly outclass the Bulls are Phoenix (w/Nash), San Antonio, Miami, Seattle, and probably Detroit.

at least they've got defense down, now. i'm thankful for that. we can work on decreasing turnovers as the season progresses, but i'm just so happy to see some kind of learning going on.

it's like that episode of webster when he undergoes those tests and at the end he finds out that he's going to grow. i feel like that.

Solid Webster reference. That show wasn't just good; it was "edu-tainment."

check this red-arsed baboon out. he really hates the bulls.

Now lets go to the last play of the game, gordon comes off the pick, moving pick may I remind you, and carries the ball about two steps to get away from sweetney to throw up that BS hook shot, I swear that guy has the ugliest offensive game I have seen, he is too short to try to be the offensive player he thinks he is, his shot selection is suspect and he usually is out of control on his drives, but again these are the knicks, we don't get the benefit of any calls or breaks..

the hater philosophy is alive and well.

Yup, the Knicks don't get the calls at MSG.

Are we talking about the Hubert Davis phantom foul? Was it Hugh Hollins that made that call?

Well, that Knick fan is absolutely delusional. The Ben Gordon shot was a thing of beauty. Beautiful. He should watch Ben play more often, because he can make big shots like that and create for himself. Wow, what a relief we don't have the 35% FG shooting, can't create a shot to save his life, has a bad attitude, Jamal Crawford on the team. Thanks Isaiah.

Yup that would be the famous Hugh Hollins call.

Reggie Miller's GW 3 pointer and prior take down of MJ in game 4 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals was a horrible horrible call.

Also, Reggie could barely walk before his miraculous push off, sprint around 3 pointer

I hate Reggie and the Pacers

Ditto (and Reggie went to UCLA!!).

That and the bogus Hue Hollins call on Scottie Pippen are my two least favorite NBA referee calls/non-calls of all time.

Heres a little piece from the tribune about Hinrich. It sounds like Pippen has some confidence in the team.

Pippen, meanwhile, predicted the Bulls' seven-game win streak would continue on Wednesday in Boston.

"That's going to be an easy 'W,'" he said, smiling.

As Skiles broke down the victory in his postgame news conference, Pippen walked by the media horde and interrupted the coach.

"Don't forget good coaching," Pippen said.

Speaking of calls that went NY's way in the past. Wasn't there a playoff game where Patrick Ewing took about 5 steps before making a game winning shot a while back?

the article in the Daily Herald said that Pippen was talking trash to the Knicks the entire game. In fact, it credited Pippen for missed Knick free throws at the end.

For the rest of the week, the Bulls are in Boston tomorrow, at the United Center to play the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and off to Auburn Hills to play the defending champ Pistons on Saturday (on WGN).

So Detroit will be victim #10 then huh  I like our chances against the Celts and Hawks, but the Detroit game will be tough. They are starting to play really good basketball, so it should be a fun one.

I couldnt believe what I saw on ESPN today. They were giving all sorts of props to the Bulls. Ric Bucher(sp?) was just complimenting the hell out of the team, and Skiles. He also said that he thinks the Bulls will make the playoffs, and if they do, could give any team in the East a run for their money. Greg Anthony(who was at the game yesterday) was all over the Bulls jocks lol. He said Hinrich and Gordon are winners and the league better watch out. He said Deng plays like hes been in the league for 5 years, and mentioned Pips name with him. Said that Pip really likes Dengs game and Deng has the upside of Pip or better. He also said the Bulls will make the playoffs and give teams fits. They are the exact type of team that you dont want to play in a playoff series..young and extremely talented.

I never left, either. But count me in nonetheless. EDIT: I call a window seat.

That pic of Noc is freaking priceless, Serena. Priceless.

By the way, is the Pistons game a Superstation broadcast, or is it just Chicagoland GN?

Well, apparently AD is going to be out for the Celtics game. Harrington is going to get the start in place of him. The Bulls had quite an interesting day trying to get to practice on Mon. First their bus broke down, then the bus HIT A TAXICAB lol! However, Skiles said they had a very good practice so lets hope they are ready Weds night.

I was there for the lowest of the low, including:

-Phil leaving and the hiring of Tim Floyd

-MJ and Rodman retiring, Pip and Luc getting their sign and trades

-Starting out like 2-14 after the dismantling (It was funny how nieve I was, I thought making the playoffs in the NBA was so easy that before the season I thought that Bulls roster would make the playoffs)

-John Starks WAS a Bull for 5 games (and booed lustily everytime he touched the ball at the UC)

-Getting Brent Barry and then trading him after his first season (Barry is still productive with Seattle)

-Scoring just 49 points in an NBA, at the time an NBA record of futility

-Winning 13 games in a season

-Watching the management dismantle the team to make a run at the FA class of 2000 and then watching TMac play us for leverage for Orlando, Grant Hill not returning Krause's calls, Tim Duncan laughing in our faces. Hell, we couldn't even get Antonio Davis until he was old and sucked a few years later.

-Ending up with Eddie Robinson that year

-Trading our most established player for 2 high schoolers and setting back the rebuilding a few years

-Watching long losing streaks that I thought would never end

-Watching Jordan come back to the UC as a Wizard, and having the Bulls score only 38 points after 3 quarters and losing miserably

-Our #2 pick (Jay Williams), one of the most NBA ready players to come out in a few years, has a disapointing season, then recklessly goes out on his motorcycle and suffers a career ending injury

-Winning 30 games in 2002, having experts pick us as high as a 4 seed for 2003, only to get blown out the first game of the season and subsequintly being blown out of the season and regressing

-Trading Brad Miller, Ron Artest and others for that waste of life Jalen Rose and Travis Best and then watching Miller and Artest become NBA All-Stars

-Starting out 0-9 in 2004, watching our #3 pick sputter out of the gate and wondering how many more years this is going to take

-Watching Kornel David, Cory Carr, Keith Booth, Corey Benjamin, Mario Bennett and Charles Jones suit up for the Bulls - and that was only 1999!

There were a few bright moments though:

-Starting out 2-0 in 2002 with wins at Boston and vs. New Orleans (the Bulls would pick up 1/3 of their road wins that year on opening night alone!)

-Brad Miller getting into a fight with Shaq during a Bulls win over the Lakers in 2001. The Bulls swept the season series vs. the defending champs that year

-Seeing an article after 2002 on ESPN.com stating that if any team should represent the East in the Finals it should be the Bulls with the way they finished their season

-Having a 24-17 home record in 2002

I'm sure there were a few more good moments, but you get the picture. I deserve a front row seat in this bandwagon
