Anyone care to explain why Eric Piatkowski is getting so much playing time in the fourth quarter? And Ben Gordon is sitting out the only quarter he ever plays?

Anyone?

Cause Skiles wanted to send a message to Gordon more than likely. That's what they were saying on the radio a bit ago.

What was the message?

I'm guessing take better care of the ball and stop missing shots. Maybe there was something in there about tipping too. :)

They didn't say that just said that he wanted to send a message and that it wasn't the right time to send one.

Yeah, definitley don't try and send a message to Gordon in the 4th quarter, do it in the first 3 quarters.

It seems like he sends Gordon the message in the first three quarters no matter what. :?

It's not like Gordon's trying to turn the ball over.

While Gordon was in the game tonight he couldnt find his shot. Add that in with forcing shots, and turning the ball over= not playing in crunch time when the team is down. I like Gordon alot, but until he cuts the TO's down he can be a major liability in games like this.

He might, but he's still a better option than Eric Piatkowski.

Not if they are down and Gordon hasnt hit an outside shot all night. They cant give away possesions when they are down and Gordon was trying to drive between two defenders tonight, and making bad passes. Pike can hit an outside shot, so if Gordon is off hes the best available option.

Everyone thought that he was crazy when he took curry and chandler out of the starting lineup. I think that the man knows what he is doing and am going to give him a break on this one.

Remember, while this team may be doing well right now, they are still a very young team and are not going to go that far if/when they get into the playoffs. I am fine with Skiles sending messages to his players whenever he feels that they would be most effective. With that being said, I would also like to see Gordon on the floor because the only way that he is going to change is through playing time.

Well, here is what I can find on Skiles reasoning for sitting Gordon.

"He had one of those games where he seemed to be stumbling," Skiles said. "He had a lot of problems, especially defensively."

Also Gordon was 1-7 shooting, and most of the shots were nowhere close. I like the fact that Skiles isnt letting these guys get away with poor defense, no hustle, and stupid TO"S. Just because they are winning he cant let these young guys feel like they can do what they want.

Just wanted to state that I wasn't saying Gordon does all those things I mentioned. It was a generaltization of reasons why Skiles has benched people on this team throughout the season.

Well geez Kirk was 4-16 today and they didn't show any signs of taking him out. Gordon usually shoots his best in the 4th and you take him out?

I blame this loss on the black unis....

Apparently Skiles ripped the team after the game saying that it was a below mediocre effort by the Bulls tonight. Quite interesting.

Following the game on Gamecast, it didn't look that pretty. Skiles like keeping the compliment to a minimum anyways.
