Starter came in with a 4.67 ERA for the season, mowing down the Cubs other than the 1st inning.

To be fair, his stuff is absolutely filthy, he just usually has no idea where it's going.

I feel like Wisdom has a k% in excess of 50% the last week or so.

He's punctuating it with home runs so it's not a complete black hole, but yeah for a few weeks now he's been struggling

42.3% heading into today (over the last week). Think it's at 46.4% when you add in today's at bats now. He was slugging .500 over that period, though.

But I have been very concerned with his hitting since the Dodgers series.

Heading into today's game since then: .182/.294/.409, 92 wRC+, 39.2% K%.

Benefit of hindsight after the home run, but his outings seem a lot like watching Harden.  No hitter looks *good* against him, but he's got more baserunners than he should due to the walks and then you look up and he's at 100 pitches after 5 and giving up 3 runs because of one mistake and maybe an unlucky sequence another inning.

Rough first game for Mervis.

Don't take that the wrong way - not saying anything about his long term abilities.

But a tough debut for sure.

Increase that to 48% K-rate for Wisdom over the last week.

Is he 50% k rate yet?

Update?

Since 4/28, Patrick Wisdom has 15 strikeouts over 30 plate appearances.

Folks, Wisdom has hit a 50% k-rate over the last week.

That was a move by the Marlins intentionally walking Mancini in order to face Mervis.
