I don't know (maybe don't even care) if it's actually more valuable to have a better bat there, his defense is noticeable

It was a very nice play and does make a difference. But man that is a hard sell that to have a better bat available got that slot wouldn't produce a greater impact. That said I wouldn't be opposed to Hosmer putting up an Eric Karros type season for us to fluke our way I ti a fun season.

The apple TV stuff is dumb and probably how it's "supposed" to work, but you shouldn't have been blacked out for any of the other games.  Might be worth contacting them about it.  Only potential reason that comes to mind is if your billing address is still in the Chicago area, but that shouldn't matter to my knowledge.  Maybe a VPN messing with things?

Yeah I agree, theres no reason for me to be blacked out, especially for Sunday's game and Monday's game. Saturday I thought maybe it was because of Fox. Sunday I decided it must be an ESPN game or something. Wife wanted to do something anyway so I just didn't investigate. Monday I was shocked, became instantly irate and just found something else to do. Tuesday I was beginning a drive home, checked to see if I could get the TV broadcast on my phone but wasn't too disappointed with the blackout because I was gonna do the radio broadcast anyway. Ive lived in South Florida for 7 years and haven't changed any settings or anything. If it happens again tomorrow I'll call them and either get it fixed or try for a refund. But wait, tomorrow is Satuday, do they still black out all Saturday broadcasts?

They should only be blacking out national broadcasts on Saturdays if you're out of market, but I'm not sure exactly how that works tomorrow.  It says it airs on FS1 as well as Fox Sports Southwest and Marquee, so my assumption is it's not blacked out but I can't be certain.

Weird thing to say this early, but 3-3 feels WAY better than 2-4

Don't think it is weird to say and think it is pretty easy to argue it is a big deal with how early the course of the season is going to be set with this bunch.

I feel like that's a game this team would have lost 2-0 last April due to defensive miscues and bad bounces.

Our offense definitely needs an upgrade if they want to contend come August, but I'll take wins like this one as a positive sign going forward.

Was at the game today, noticeably fast with the pitch clock, kids didn't get bored during innings, only real downer was that we were in the shade with the wind in our face, which made it feel 10 degrees out there.

Only takeaway from the game was my 5yo referring to the Cubs RF as "Miles Easterbunny" which we then repeated throughout the game and spread to nearby fans.

Ive been blacked out of every game this season on MLB.tv here in south Florida. I guess to be fair I didnt try opening day because I was at work. But Ive tried and been blacked out of every game since. I know this one is because of appleTV, but the other ones really surprised me. Have the blackout rules gotten more restrictive? This is horsefeathers.

Did you give MLB.TV customer service a call.?  Last season, I was blacked out for any Padres games even though I live in southern AZ. After a while, I called and they said it was a simple mistake.  They pressed a few buttons and it was fixed.

I had the same thing a few years ago. I want to say it was a game in SD or LA even though I'm in the SF/Oak region. Called them and they fixed it quickly.
