Fields comes in at 21, the 4th QB on the list after Herbert, Hurts, and Tua.

I think that’s fair. Fields is a year younger than all three and has two years less experience than Herbert and one year less than Hurts and Tua. I think Hurts’ and Tua’s year 3 leaps are a good goal for Fields next year. Fields is pretty clearly out-performing all the other QBs in his draft class.

By the way, I don’t think it’s generally appreciated how good a season Tua is having. 9 yards per attempt and throwing a TD on 6.7% of throws are eye-popping stats.

Sure would be nice for Fields to have comparable receivers to what Tua has. May have to wait and see what the 2024 free agent class has to offer.

Bad lisfranc injuries can be career altering

Yikes. That is REAL bad. Travis Etienne had a lisfranc injury and missed his entire rookie year.

Players who underwent surgery missed an average of 10 games, though were sidelined an average of 11.6 months (because of recovery extending into the offseason).

Encouragingly, however, the study found that offensive players did not have a statistically significant decline in career length or on-field performance following a Lisfranc injury.

This information reads like Jackson is likely to miss most of, if not all of the 2023 season. Also implies that defensive players do have significant decline (though, it simply may not consider defensive stats).
