i honestly feel bad for him

I only sort of do. It’s not his fault he doesn’t fit in with the Lakers or that they traded for him. But at the same time he’s probably the only person who doesn’t realize he can’t shoot, especially from 3.

Part of me believes Russ is tanking in order to force the Lakers to trade him. He can’t be THAT stupid, right? Well, maybe it’s a combo of both.

He’s the second highest paid player in the league, ~$47 mil this year, which good for him. He’s not tanking to be traded (he just sucks/is delusional of his talent). It’s hard (if not impossible) to move him for anything meaningful for the Lakers or any team thinking they can win with him with the salary cap trade match stuff at his number. He’s simply not a winning player, but yet he plays like and thinks he’s a top player in the league. He’s both stupid and delusional, imo, but also very rich because of it. So who’s to say.

Yeah, he's just not good at this point. He was a good player through the year after KD left, when he first averaged a triple double. The year after that he was still good too, but it's been a steady decline since. His already not great 3-point shooting has gotten worse and his FT shooting has gone from the low 80's to the mid 60's. He's also not good defensively and loses his mind at the end of games on both ends of the floor.

the pelicans are fun

Very fun to watch. They’ve won 7 in a row now with Ingram and Herb Jones out of the lineup. Zion dropped 70 over the weekend sweep of the Suns. MVP level over the last 2weeks.

I knew they were top-4 but I didn’t realize they were the top of the conference.

And anyone who hates Zion (or any other big dunker) throwing down a cool dunk at the end of a game like that is an idiot. He’s at home in front of a pumped up crowd and he throws a 360. Let him dunk.

Also, it didn’t come out of nowhere. Chris Paul was being Chris Paul and still chirping at Pels players and trying to score while the game was already decided. If he’d dribbled out the clock Zion would’ve never been in that situation.

Point Zion was the only good idea Stan Van Gundy ever had here. He has been absolutely unstoppable in this stretch, no matter who guards him.

The Warriors are 15-2 at home an 3-16 on the road. Anyone know how to find the biggest gap between home and road winning percentage for a full season. I'd be shocked if whatever the current record is was anywhere close to the Warriors right now.

The Pels are the most fun, 3rd in the West while missing their two All Stars team I’ve seen. Jose Alvarado alone is worth going.

The top 5 teams in the West right now are the Nuggets, Grizzlies, Kings, Clippers and Timberwolves. Those teams have a combined 1 NBA finals appearance in their collective histories and it was the Kings in 1951. Before today, the Pelicans were the 6 seed and they've never made the finals either.

Hold on to your hats. I have some ultra shocking news to share.

KYRIE IRVING WANTS TO BE TRADED BEFORE THE DEADLINE

I'm absolutely stunned by this developing story. Stunned, I tells ya.

Not a terrible trade but I can totally see Luka leaving after Kyrie implodes in a year or two

Thank god it wasn’t the Pels, especially at that price.

I think this is a pretty great trade for the Nets. Kyrie is obviously a nightmare and is going to be a free agent after the season anyway. Getting a couple decent players and future picks seems solid.

Dallas desperately needed to put a star next to Luka but Kyrie is a lunatic and I wouldn't want to hitch my wagon to him with a big deal in the offseason.
