Watching the videos, I like Fields' Sunday performance a little more. It wasn't good, but it wasn't as horrible as weeks 2 and 3.

Im not 100% sold on Dilfer's analysis. Fields was a high profile graduate of his QB program. He's got an interest in fields being perceived as on track to be successful

Yeah at this point, it's based on if you view the glass as half empty or half full on Fields. There's that chart that shows he's been under pressure more than anyone and he has WRs that get open less than anyone. But we also know he doesn't get rid of the ball quick enough. But his numbers are great when he has a clean pocket, which he sometimes leaves too early (different story). So, whether or not you think he will get better at some things or always be what he is....he seemingly can be an effective QB if he is protected. The question for Poles and company will be if they do build the OL where it needs to be, if "effective" is good enough in the age of 50Mil/year QB salaries. But that's a question you hope you have to answer in 2024, at the earliest.

A couples days later and watching his plays again, I'm also feeling more positively about Fields's play. It wasn't *good* but it wasn't as catastrophic as the previous week, and it is very clear what little he's working with out there.

I'm really just upset the front office gave him such a horrible offensive line and receiving corps when this is a really important year for a QB's development. He's got 13 more games playing with this roster and it's really just not fair to him. Or to the coaching staff, to evaluate him.
