The next move that Jed Hoyer makes need to be the one that puts the cubs back on the track. Hottovy needs to go. Our pitching is horrible.

I wouldn't fight it if he was fired but I don't really know how much is him doing a poor job. 2 of their 3 legitimate MLB starters have missed significant portions of time. Hendricks decline happened under him but he also had good years with Hottovy. Steele and Keegan have been nice surprises even if Keegan has been awful his last 2 outings. Pen has been up and down but solid in the back with Givens and Robertson (I think, I've mostly box score watched lately rather than actually watching).

Tommy's time being unemployed would be measured in hours, not days, if the org was dumb enough to fire him (and they're not).

Fire the Ricketts family.

Don't worry, the Cubs are going to be big spenders next year. That's the new mantra every year.

They'll come up with some excuse about not acquiring any of Devers, Correa or Turner then either overpay for Dansby Swanson and try and say he's just as good at a fraction of the price or they'll say Nico is our guy and there's no need to get another SS.

I crack up at the "reports" that the Cubs will be in on Judge, Correa, Turner, etc. I guess these sports reporters don't remember who owns the Cubs. Can any of those guys pitch, because that's what this team needs.

If you paired this lineup with the best pitching staff in the league, do you actually think they would be a good team? The team has holes everywhere.

To be clear, the 17th best offensive team per fWAR and the best pitching staff in the league would be a good team. At this point, I don't really have any idea how to build a pitching staff, but we're about 500 innings short of a good starting rotation currently. Hope on Kilian, sign a couple bats that create logjams for our offensive prospects, trade them for pitchers who have already shown success, profit?

This team has holes everywhere, but pitching is the biggest hole. There's a decent chance that they lose/trade Miley, Smyly, Hendricks, and possibly Stroman by next season. I would love to see one or more of those offensive FAs on this team, but somebody has to pitch.
