This is exactly what I expected the response to be.

I also think Mina hit the nail on the head as to why this is confusing everyone so much (even the broadcast booth!)

The TO was fine, if you wanted to get a different look on D. The issue was letting up a 10 yard run.

It’s really too bad. The sight of watching them take knees and punt, as Steeler nation flips out, would’ve been marvelous.

I mean it makes zero logical sense why that changed things for LV.

Have someone trying to argue with me on Twitter it signaled to LV that LA was playing to win, but how they used their TO is exactly the opposite of how you'd want to use them. They'd have to leave time or leave TO and they wouldn't have been in a position for either.

Exactly. If the Chargers were trying to win and wanted time for a drive had the Raiders missed the FG, they wouldn’t have let 30 seconds run off the clock before calling the timeout. They would have called it immediately after the 2nd down play ended.

I mean ideally right after the first down off the two minute warning when you stopped them for a loss because you could maybe bait them into a pass in completion too.

Or you call it like 5 seconds later (if you get the stop) and save a TO for your offense/FG unit.

Fwiw though I think it was right to play to tie. But they failed to execute and hold the FG to a long enough attempt and sounds like they let themselves get baited into subbing in a DB. But that's separate from the logic of the TO then.

Saints in Mediocrity hell. Not good enough to make playoffs but not bad enough to get a great draft pick

If you're solely talking about this year, then yeah, but for this team to overcome everything they have this season and still finish with a winning record is pretty remarkable. They are a top 3 seed next season if they are healthy and run the same roster out there, Michael Thomas included.

Back up the truck full of money & women to Rodgers’ house. Love ain’t gonna cut it.

Love, in his few opportunities, hasn’t really shown much. If AR leaves and they go with Love, they’ll need an experienced backup.

AR will have to decide if he wants to be the highest paid player in the league or one of the highest. If he demands to be the highest paid, gonna make it tough for GB to retain many of their key players.

Wasn’t that the point of his whole press conference - that he more or less didn’t need to be the highest paid but wanted the Packers to retain the good players?

I don’t see him leaving GB

I want Rogers to stay a Packer, when the Bears start beating them I want him at QB. I'd say the Packers are as close to a one man football team as will ever see, they really are impotent without him. Don't know if you could say that about the Bucs without Brady or Chiefs without Mahomes nevertheless, stay a Packer Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah, maybe so. With healthy Winston they are probably a 12 win team this past year.

The Dolphins fired Flores? What the hell? Unless he's the reason they picked Tua over Herbert that seems completely unjustifiable to me.

Flores and Fields deserve each other. Make it happen, McCaskeys.

Probably wouldn't have been with just a healthy Winston. On offense alone, they spent this season without their starting K and Mike Thomas, plus the majority of this season without their three Pro Bowl OL, Center 1, RB2, TE1 and WR2. You return that healthy with even Jameis at QB and you are fine playing with this defense. I mean, I'd love Russell Wilson too, but I don't think you need him considering what they'd have to trade away to get him.

To be fair, the GM in Miami is black as well and there was reportedly some issues with them getting along.

Yeah. There were some comments about the turnover of the assistant coaches and lack of communication between coach and management. Add that to a 7 game losing streak and I can see the firing.

Also a 7 game win streak and sweep of a pretty good Belichick led Patriots team. He'll have no shortage of opportunities, I'd hope.

I also read a tweet that said Flores was a big reason Watson wanted to go to Miami. So that is pretty interesting as well.

There’s still a non-zero chance that Watson never plays another NFL snap. I wouldn’t want my team making a coaching hire based on the possibility of Watson coming aboard.

Ah. Didn’t know about either of those things.
