Nagy has an extreme conservative mindset and is too stubborn to adjust his philosophy based on the situation his team is facing.

 

For an example: if you are a good team with an elite defense maybe it’s defensible to settle for a FG on that last possession. However when your job and season are on the line, your defense is missing the entire secondary and you are given a gift turnover, most would not waste a chance to tie the game before halftime. But for Nagy his playbook reads “regardless of what happens we’ll only be down 1 score at halftime so let’s play it safe”
