This MNF matchup is so depressing that Manningcast has decided to have a bye week for this game, so there goes 3 hours of the Mannings ripping on the Bears to liven up this one.

Steelers are coming off a big win over the Bengals to move to 4-3 but are actually selling off players before the deadline. The Bears will probably add because they are buffoons but we'll see.

Steelers are not that great and their QB is a decaying corpse that cant throw accurately more than 5 yards downfield. This will almost certainly be the last time the Bears play against Roethlisberger, and they've had some solid success against his Steelers teams, going 3-1 against him. The one loss was in 2005 against Kyle Orton in the snow. The wins were in 2009 in Cutler's first home game for the Bears, 2013 on MNF during their hot start in 2013, and Mike Glennon's only win as Bears starter in a game I have no recollection of in 2017.

Nagy will probably be back so it will be interesting to see if Feilds doesn't run nearly as much in this one

Steelers -6.5

Really? Maybe it's because I'm in Pittsburgh, but this was one of the most fun games in recent years. Wore the throwback jerseys with the orange block lettering. It went to OT and Cohen basically won the game with a long TD run in overtime, but it was called back ruling he stepped out of bounds (he actually didn't) and then the next 2 plays were Howard with back-to-back 19-20 yard runs, including one along the left sideline that featured a questionable hold/block in the back that was let go probably to make up for the call that Cohen was out of bounds.

Steelers 24-13 although I think the Bears last loss to the Steelers was in 2005.

Cutler 1st Bears victory in 09

Trestman goes 3-0 in 2013

2017 I don't remember but I think the Bears won

Yeah I think at all the time all I cared about was Mitch starting. I do vaguely remember being surprised/happy the Bears won but nothing about the game. From what you mentioned, I do recall the overturned TD/back to back runs now.

ha, i literally remember like one play/image from each of those.

2005 urlacher gets owned by bettis

2009 cutler almost walks into the signaling ref with his helmet falling off his head

2013 - ok i actually dont remember a thing about that

2017 - tarik cohen with the crazy game winning td that got called back and jordan howard eventually scored (we spent a good portion of this game arguing about the eliteness of the bears' running game)

That reminds me - Sulley still owes me money from that wager.

2013 was a fun game as well. IIRC, the Bears got ahead early. The Steelers came back and the Bears needed a score to ice it. Cutler threw a TD to Earl Bennett (I believe) in the back of the endzone. IDK what the original call was, but it was reviewed and ruled a TD. I was at a buddy's house, who is a Steelers fan, and I fist pumped and got a little too close to punching his 70" TV to his liking (I wasn't really that close, he was just salty).

The lasting image I have from this game is the Steelers DB thinking Cutler was going to slide on a scramble, but instead Jay just trucked him. And the announcers got all stupid complaining that it's not fair for defenders to not be able to hit QBs and QBs be able to truck them instead of sliding.

Forgot we had him. Is this move being made to activate Monty for tomorrow? Sounds like he’s trending towards playing

I'm predicting an ugly ass game similar to Pittsburgh's last against Cleveland where they won 15-10. Bears will struggle offensively (duh) but Roethlisberger's noodle arm will keep it a one score game. Bears will have multiple 4th quarter possessions where they can score to take the lead but won't be able to. I'll go 17-13 Steelers.

Man, I'll bet that dude went full tankie so damn hard.

If it wasn't a Bear game, I'd definitely relegate it to background noise as I do other, more important things like playing fetch with the dog.

Alas, I'll be watching.

I doubt he's changed at all, still droning on about England's ruling family and how capitalists suck

He's on twitter but I don't see much non-sports tweeting from him. I do occasionally see an 'only my teams' style tweet during Bears games though.

I will engage with him on Twitter. Don't think he would know I'm an NSBBer, but he got pretty worked up about Ted Phillips the other day which was funny (we were actually roughly on the same side of the debate and he was going a little nuts lol).

Since the start of the 2019 season, the Bears are 3-7 in primetime games. The 3 wins:

2019 - MNF against WFT

2019 - TNF against Dallas

2020 - TNF against TB

2-1 on TNF (loss was the opener against GB in 2019 so higher profile than the standard Thursday game) and 1-6 on Sunday and Monday nights.
