There’s probably like 15 games left until the ASB? Let Lavine sit until then and get like 30 days of real rest. Make a trade or two and then hit the ground running after the ASB.

I'm thinking when they say not expected to miss significant time they mean like a week or so. Could be wrong though

They should be more cautious then not, imo. Seeding isn’t that important, especially risking health for it. At least look at putting Lavine on a Kawhi/Embiid scheduled rest schedule for a while once he’s back. Teams literally have 12-15 “scheduled” losses a year. Taking it easy over the next month to get every right and healthy coming out of the break should be a priority.

seeding is pretty important if you value a first round win over a first round loss. winning a playoff series would feel pretty good to me, even if that's all they win.

They probably aren’t winning the championship and they’re 4 games clear of the 4/5 right now. A top 3 seed is all that really matters in terms of a first round win. That sets them up vs Cleveland, NY, Toronto, Charlotte, Washington or Boston. Don’t think there’s too big of gap in any of those teams that the 1-3 seed overly matters and getting/staying healthy is still much more important anyways.

i never said the 1 seed. a top 3 seed is going to be pretty hard to get

and i'd say cleveland is a step above those teams you listed

Wasnt going to follow the game today because the last 2 bummed me out. On a whim i checked the score and saw they were up 112-106 with 1:45 left. Thought it was safe to turn on. Now I'm horsefeathering bummed even more

horsefeathering time lord making four huge FTs in the last 30 seconds gtfo

Those FTs were ugly as hell too. I didn't see the last 2 FTs, but the first 2 looked like they had no shot at going in.

Durant is out for at least a month and Milwaukee keeps losing pretty random games we might be ok

Really tough next 3 games (@Memphis, Cleveland, @ Milwaukee). If we could somehow win one of those games that would be extremely helpful, though will be tough without Lonzo, Lavine and Caruso (for at least some of those games). After that the schedule is a little more manageable, though road heavy.

vuc isn't long for this world

Definitely, I would think finding a C will be priority one for the Bulls this off season. I don't get the lack of effort from him, Grizzlies and other teams getting offensive boards simply because they're working harder. Once in a while we get glimpses of effort from him and it usually turns out well. There was FT attempt in third were he really laid it on that Adams almost knocking him on his ass, why can't that there most of the time?

So far the Bulls have been outscored by an average of 31.3 points in their 3 ESPN games this year, and probably no Lonzo or Lavine so I think that's a poor bet.

The speculation I’ve seen is out 2-4 weeks. The Bulls seem to have major injury issues every season and it’s so frustrating

Or 4 months?

Zo is an important glue guy on this team but between Ayo, Coby and Caruso coming back they should be able to weather this one ok. Provided Zach comes back in relatively short order as well.

The playoffs were really a war of attrition last year. I'm ok with the Bulls being cautious with injuries if that helps them get to April and May healthy.

It will be really interesting to see what they do before the trade deadline. Even if they figure Pat is coming back you know they have to make a move for a big of some capacity.
