Line is Packers -4 which is reasonable but crazy after how badly the Packers looked in week 1. Since then they've blown out Detroit, won a close one in SF, shut down Pittsburgh, and beat the Bengals by the same margin as the Bears, albeit in Cincinnati.

The Bears probably wont win but if they can it will give them a huge boost in the division race.

I don’t think either team is very good, but one of these two is going to win the division by default. Probably the Packers, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Bears snuck out a close win here.

I want to revise up my Bears win total expectation after the Raiders win, but I still don’t see much more than 7 wins on the schedule.

.....Maybe they get to Rodgers like the Saints did?

The Packers O-line has been banged up and is mostly inexperienced. But they've played A LOT better since week one. The should have back Elgton Jenkins and hopefully Josh Meyers for the Bears. And then the should be getting Bakhtiari available the following week.

What are the prospects of Eddie Goldman, Akiem Hicks and Germain Ifedi being able to suit up Sunday?

I don’t think Goldman is hurt anymore. Hicks has a groin issue and didn’t even take the team plane to LV this week so I’d be surprised if he played. No idea about Ifedi

i gotta think the bears are getting flexed in here

Historically I hate this idea, but with Fields, I'm fine with it. And since I don't have a coaching conflict that night and working from home pretty much removes the dreaded "morning after primetime game" vibes I say hell yes.

The Packers have had the Bears number seemingly my entire life, with very brief exceptions. It would be nice if this was just a normal game, a normal balanced rivalry, but the Packers have just owned the Bears the last quarter century. Matt Nagy is 1-5 vs the Packers.

I’m not expecting a win but a competitive game with Fields looking good would be nice. The game plan vs the Raiders won’t be enough. This team will have to plan to score 28+ to make this a game. I can’t wait for Aaron Rodgers to retire.

That's one of the benefits of being old, I legit remember when the Bears dominated this rivalry.

All I've got are those final Favre years vs. Lovie, a home MNF win in like 2010, the Thanksgiving game that one year (2015?), and that 2018 home win.

I'm sure I missed one in there somewhere (maybe?)

I don't think the gameplan against the Raiders is altogether bad. I'd like a few more shots down the field and if they do get a lead I'd like to see them be more agressive, but between the Lions and Raiders games you can see a plan/scheme that works coming together.

Key to limiting Rodgers is getting a rush with 4. Which they've been doing. If they can do that and drop 7 consistently, they can hold Rodgers to a few scores.

To be fair, yes those are the only 2 games with teams that both have winning records but there is also Chiefs/Titans and Washington/Packers that would be in consideration too. While the Bears have a winning record, I don't know if the general public is convinced they are any good and/or will have a winning record after playing GB/SF. Hard to pass up giving Brady another night game though, plus Fields first primetime game.

Yep I laughed at the Packers fans from 84-91. Lynn Dickey? Lol. If I only knew what the next 30 years would be like

Didn't a Bears team go up to GB on Christmas night one year? Maybe 2005 and win?

My favorite of the 21st century was game 1 in 06, Hester returned a punt in his first game, Bears won 26-0

Didn't a pretty bad Bears team go up to GB on Christmas night one year? Maybe 2004 and win?

The Bears clinched the division title in 2005 by going to GB and beating the Packers on XMas. You might be mixing together that and the Thanksgiving night game where a bad Bears team did go up to GB and win, unless there was another xmas game I'm forgetting.

Edit: Looks like you edited your post to remove pretty bad. So yes that happened. It was Grossman's first start of the season, he was ok and Briggs had a pick 6 of Favre.

that was part of those final favre years vs lovie.

beat them twice in 05, shut them out to open 06 (lost meaningless final game in 06 when rex said it was NYE)

somehow beat them twice in 07 too...one of those was that griese game where he said the headset cut out and he called his own plays.

Bears were 22-9 vs the Packers from 1976 to 1991. Basically from Walter Payton to Brett Favre.

15-44 since, playoffs included, with a 2-18 stretch and the current 3-19 stretch. What happens when the Packers have had 30 consecutive years of HoF caliber QB play and the Bears… haven’t, to put it mildly.

The worst was 2001 when the Bears went 13-3 with 2 losses to Green Bay. I was at the game at Soldier Field. Felt a bit weird flying so soon after 9/11. Closest I ever came to hitting a woman (which wasn't actually close at all) was walking out of the stadium when some heifer in green & yellow thought it would be funny to pull my Bears hat down over my face in the middle of the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. I was not pleased at all.

The funniest Bears win was the one in 2010 I believe - the Packers committed something like 15 penalties and I believe it still required a Julius Peppers blocked field goal to secure the win. That's how much crazy horsefeathers had to go right for the Bears to win in those days.

horsefeathers I looked it up and it was 18 penalties. Lmao.
