The Pacers are hoping better health and way better coaching sends them at least back to where they were two years ago when they had a 50 win pace during the pandemic season. It just shows the depth of the East right now that you didn't even think of them and mentioned 10 teams!

I’ve been watching some Pacers games ever since Darren Collison signed with them a few years ago. That’s a fun team.

When they can actually get three or four of their starters on the floor at the same time.

I've hardly watched any Olympics l, but damn it sounds like Lavine is having a great Olympic showing. Most the articles I read going in questioned if he'd even have a minor role.

Just start the KD 2023 rumors now.

Yeah I haven't watched a ton of the games but I was surprised to see Lavine starting early on before the NBA Finals guys joined the team, and even after that seeing him play key crunch time minutes for the team. He continues to surprise. I wouldn't have believed it if you would have told me on the day we traded Jimmy that Lavine would be an all-star and playing key minutes in the Olympics. Thought his ceiling was a useful decent scorer.

Hey the Bulls had a 7 game win streak in Lavine's first year in Chicago which he didnt participate in because he was injured

I only watched the last two games but Zach was locked in defensively and making plays I think he can be solid there if he doesn't have to carry the offensive load so much

I watched the last 3 games and Zachs defense has been slightly improved from last years NBA season. The effort has increased, but he just seems to lack awareness. He often loses his man. His steals have largely been due to losing his man momentarily, but being athletic enough to get back into position quick enough to get into the passing lane and get the steal.

This should be a great experience for him and hopefully he continues to carry the defensive effort over into the NBA season. Especially now that he won’t have as large of an offensive burden.

Also, Durant seems to love him.

Durant has proven to be a mercenary at this point so maybe if the Bulls have a promising couple of seasons and the Brooklyn thing falls apart he looks this way.

This kind of sucks if the FO was hoping to get any value out of a S&T for Lauri. Believe the Hornets were one of like 2-3 teams that had enough cap space to sign Lauri outright. They have no obligation to work out a S&T unless AKME somehow makes the Hornets believe that they might match, which seems like a stretch

Depending on the size of an offer, I think he can bluff his way to a 2nd rounder. It's something at least, they've given up a bunch of picks this week. Also, I'm sure this isn't the I first talk they've had. They still need to complete the Lonzo S&T. I think they could possibly just get a TPE from it as well.

I'm pretty happy to see the Bulls sneak into relevance again. Perfect timing as I'm moving back to Illinois at the end of September. Living in California is hard to watch Chicago teams. I had to go to a bar to watch the Bears. I had to buy the MLB At Bat package for baseball, and until the Hawks are in the playoffs, there just wasn't much Hawks or Bulls games to be able to be fan during the regular season. Now I'll be stuck inside for cold winters, and some fun Chicago sports on tv is the perfect complement.

Excited about the potential for some conference semifinal action. Just curious. Where would the Bulls rank in the East if you replaced Demar Derozan with Jimmy Butler?

Was hoping to convert Lauri into an asset, but whatever.

He's an RFA so we should still be able to trade him for something, no?

1. If there's any team with cap space left, the Bulls don't really have leverage for a S&T

2. The Bulls do have the leverage of matching an offer, but really depends on where they see his value, and if they have him on a multi year deal they are into tax territory next year when they resign LaVine.

Some rumors that CHA is still interested, even after agreeing with Oubre, who used up most of their cap space.

At this point there really isn't a scenario where Lauir gets more than MLE money without a S&T - I think only OKC can offer more. But at a certain point, maybe Lauri signs the QO and reenters FA next year unrestricted. But that's a tough sell. His role would shrink in 2022, so I don't know if losing the RFA tag makes up for it.

I would guess top 4 team in the East. Butler gets a lot of what you get from DeRozan offensively (imo) but is monumentally better defensively (or at least was when he was on the Bulls, I assume its still good). Bulls would still have depth issues but would be pretty solid imo.

I was just hoping for a 2nd round pick back. Anything else is kind of gravy, although I guess the amount and length of $ heading back will make a difference. As stated before they can't really take back long term commitments and stay under the tax (unless White gets moved for expiring or future assets)
