2 picks and a somewhat usable wing one a one year deal for Lauri?

That seems like a great deal. There was at least some concern the Bulls would have to take long term salary back to get a 1st back.

Yeah, I didn't think it was possible to get a decent 1st-round pick back for Lauri at this stage of the offseason. Pretty solid deal for the Bulls.

I have no idea what the horsefeathers Cleveland is thinking by acquiring him though. They just drafted Evan Mobley with the #3 pick in this year's draft and he's their PF of the future. They also just signed Jarrett Allen to an extension and he's their starting center... So why would you invest this much in a backup C/PF? That doesn't make any sense.

Eh Cleve has 2 good defensive forwards/centers and those guys are the ones you want to pair Lauri with. I don't think he's great but seems like an ok fit. Probably too much money too but when you're Cleveland you have to take what you can get in free agency.

AK with just a brilliant offseason, though. Easily the most excited I've been about the Bulls since DRose vaporized Goran Dragic in PHX.

Maybe see some lineups with Ball, Caruso, and Jones on the court together? That's some good defense.

I think Zach is going to feed off of these guys too and keep improving on D. If Patrick Williams continues to get closer to some of his defensive upside, this is a team that can score and stop.

Yeah I actually like the fit. There’s enough minutes to go around for Lauri, Mobley, and Allen. I think Lauri and Allen complement each other nicely. Or Lauri and Mobley. Honestly just the Mobley/Allen combo may not work well.

AKME has had a brilliant year in control, other than the tampering. What a breath of fresh air. Even if it doesn’t work out, at least they made Bulls basketball interesting again and took some chances. Also, Coby is the last remaining GarPax pick. Pretty remarkable turnaround.

How the horsefeathers do the Nets still have roster space? Annoying that 2 players the Bulls really could have used to round out the team both signed with the Nets for reduced roles and less money.

Not sure if less money is true.

Anyways they just waived a guy to make room.

The Bulls had the BAE to use for that roster spot which I believe is close to $4m. Not sure what Millsaps contract is, but I would guess the Nets didn't have a lot of options for signing him so it would be a smaller deal

Edit: Maybe the Nets also had their BAE I'm not sure.

I think the Nets didn't have the BAE, but at his experience I think his min is still 2.6M compared to a 3.6M BAE. I'd be a little surprised if Aldridge was a real contender for a BAE contract from the Bulls, but same deal, not a huge difference.

I hated the Noah pick when he was drafted. Man was I wrong. He ended up being one of my all time favorite Bulls. Kills me that DRose couldn’t stay healthy. That team should’ve accomplished more.

They went through some freezing cold stretches vs MIA. Whether it was Korver or Bogans that couldn't hit the key 3 or Rose or whoever that couldn't get the layups to fall, there were long stretches of futility. We should have won that series. It felt like Udonis Haslem was a really big factor and really took away our scoring inside.

And, obviously, LeBron.

I was pretty fired up about the Noah pick because of his hustle and defense but I was definitely concerned that his game wouldn't translate well. But he was a lot of fun to watch at Florida, even though his offensive game was highly limited.

I wasn't a fan of the Noah selection either.

Small hands and just an average wingspan for a big, and was just such a super weird unorthodox player. I think pre-draft reports also got his makeup and heart all wrong too. I remember reading reports that questioned if he liked to party too much. The big thing for me was that the guy freaking shot the ball with sidespin on it...

Anyway, I'm glad I was wrong and I might try to get tickets to this game.

Sucks

He'll miss training camp and preseason and probably the first 6-10 games of the season which sucks since he had a very abbreviated camp last year

The news still sucks, but maybe he's a quick healer and returns in that 4-week timespan.
