Kemba Walker anyone?

4. Chicago Bulls

Celtics receive: Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, Tomas Satoransky

Bulls receive: Kemba Walker, Celtics' 2022 first-round pick (lottery protected); Celtics' 2025 first-round pick (top-5 protected)

Why it works: Full disclosure: We stole this one from Twitter (with a slight modification). The Celtics flip Walker for three expiring contracts, giving them tons of cap flexibility after the 2021-22 season to pursue a third star alongside Tatum and Brown.

The Bulls get a legitimate starting point guard to pair with Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic as they eye a playoff push next fall.

Why it may not work: Even two first-round picks might not be enough for the Bulls to part with three players on expiring deals. And if they believe strongly enough in Coby White after his strong sophomore campaign, they may not want to pay $36.1 million to a 32-year-old point guard.

Kemba Walker trade: Five hypothetical deals involving Celtics guard

Kemba doesn't interest me. He can only score against bad competition anymore, his defense is atrocious.

One Celtic I could be interested in is Marcus Smart. Even when Zach was out the Bulls scored the ball pretty well. What I think they need is some perimeter defense. Maybe Smart is that guy.

Agree that Kemba doesn’t interest me at all. Want a PG that can catch and shoot well and play good/great perimeter defense. If he can facilitate that would be a nice plus, but not the most important attribute with how much Lavine and Vuc need the ball. Don’t mind moving those 3 expiring contracts in the right deal, but not for Kemba and 2 FRPs.

I don't much care for Kemba, but that seems like a lot for Boston to give up for one pretty good starter and two guys that are mostly roster filler.

Kemba Walker would make me lose whatever interest I'd have in the 2021-22 Bulls. It'd be the Carlos Boozer, 36-year old Dwayne Wade, Rip Hamilton of moves. Good player in name only at this point of his career, that it doesn't make sense to sign to add to a young core for such an expensive cost.

What assets do they really have to get him, though?

They have decent assets particularly quite a bit of expiring contracts. The lack of a 1st round pick hurts though. But if the Bulls zeroed in on him I’m confident we could make it would but it would probably require a 3rd team

I actually love Simmons' fit with the Bulls, but I'm not trading anything worthwhile to get him. Obviously, you aren't trading LaVine or Vucevic. Patrick Williams is untouchable. Wouldn't trade Coby or draft picks. I'm talking Al-Farooq Aminu, Sato and Thad for salary match purposes.

I would trade Williams or Coby. Williams, Aminu, Sato, and Thad for Simmons and Gary Clark works on the Trade Machine. Don't think that's a final package that would work for the Sixers in win now mode, but they could flip Williams for a scorer.

no luck for the Bulls, pick goes to Orlando at the 8 slot... and then 2 of next 3 picks jump Edited by Brian

I didn’t think they would have the Magic on the card so when I quickly saw a non Bulls logo pulled in the 8th spot, I was excited for a split second. Oh well.

So that last win cost them the number 4 overall pick

Haha figures. Win a coin flip against the Kings who get Luka, win a meaningless game and lose a top 4 pick. Oh well, there’s a chance we suck again next year and will have our pick

This could be cool

Zach, hang out with Dame and Beal and try to convince one of them to force a trade to Chicago.

More like the guys on the team recruit Zach to their team and he demands a trade out of town.
