Kyle Beach was the 11th overall pick and never played a non preseason game. It was chalked up to being attitude issues. Looking back after the 2010 salary cap issues and some of the slogs they brought onto the team like John Scott how he never even got a cup of coffee in the NHL, really sick organization.

Just to refresh my memory, was this the same off season that Patrick Kane's frat boy behavior got him into a bit of trouble?

That summer after the Cup win. He punched a cab driver. Not sure if that's the same summer as the University of Wisconsin stuff

I agree with all the sentiments, what I do not understand is why try to cover it up? Such things always have a far more devastating effect when attempts are made to hide them, deal with them immediately. It'll be terrible but, not this bad.

Because they're used to being able to get away with it. Plus, GOTTA WIN DA GAME!

Historically, sexual assault/harassments coverups have worked.

Sandusky was arrested in 2011, after this assault happened. Before that, you had the Catholic church scandal sort of out in the open but other than that, Larry Nassar was molesting kids, along with other trainers and doctors and coaches all over the country, not to mention Weinstein, Epstein and all of that. Blowback to the coverup only really became a thing after Paterno's downfall, and even he had widespread support.

The easiest thing to do in retrospect would be to fire the guy quietly, sure, but that requires paperwork and effort and decisions unrelated to hockey. So the actual easiest thing to do is nothing. You have to be proactive to root out sexual abusers and that is hard.

Just getting caught up on all the stuff going on with the Blackhawks organization. All I have to say is horsefeathers the Blackhawks! Guess I won't follow hockey again anytime soon.

Thank God. I’m not going to pretend this team is good but I have to think they are a decent amount better than they’ve played

The goal should be to get them to play well enough that the next GM can sell off every old, expensive vet and get something of value back. Time to clean house.

The only goal has to be getting rid of Seth Jones. He’s absolute trash and will kill this team for 5+ years

Short of inventing a time machine I’m not sure that’s possible. Would probably have to give up 2 first round picks

He's second on the team in points (10 assists). He's also one of FOUR defensemen with a -10 or worse +/- rating.

If by 5+ you mean NINE, then yes.

By year 6 there will be enough #1 draft picks to compensate
