Well pleasantly surprised. I'm sure USA Hockey will follow suit as well (which they should have done first, especially considering there are minors in that development program).

Hopefully it's sincere change and it's just not a fall guy (totally without regard to any hockey implication).

A lot were already gone but all execs that were involved in the meeting in 2010 are out, and the Wirtz instructed lawyers to settle lawsuit.

I guess this was always on the table as the obvious thing that should happen but still kind of surprised it did.

What makes me disgusted is Stan, McDonough and Q learned about this while preparing for the SCF in 2010. Q and McDonough wanted to ignore it and focus on preparing for the Flyers. Also I'm pretty sure when this all came out in the summer Q claimed that this was the first time he heard about it.

Dammit Q...

Kind of weak.

I think the part where he notes Bowman cooperated with the investigation while others did not was fairly interesting. I don't have a problem pointing out that you think he would have done the right thing in other circumstances.

I wonder if Q will resign in Florida. He looks as bad as anyone else in this.

Considering he just lied about knowing about this a few months ago, I'd guess there's no way he's coaching another game

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced Tuesday he plans to arrange "personal meetings in the near future" with Florida Panthers head coach Joel Quenneville and Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff in the wake of the independent investigation commissioned by the Chicago Blackhawks into allegations that a then-assistant coach sexually assaulted two players in 2010.

yeah he's toast

I mean at least they're having him take some ownership for the mistakes. I guess in an alternate universe something like that is used as an excuse for not having consequences, which is why it comes off poorly.

Well his own personal statement sucked.

It was horsefeathering awful. Not the time or place to make excuses for assign blame to others. The Wirtz statement was very favorable towards him (while still acknowledging his blame in this situation), he should have let that statement speak for him and taking responsibility in his own statement.

Here is the statement for those that didn't see it. He legitimately goes out of his way to blame McDonough:

It's also worth remembering that there is a significant amount of legal CYA happening right now with everyone individually named in this report. Coming out and admitting wrongdoing, while the morally right thing to do, is also a guaranteed way to get your rear end sued into oblivion and could also jeopardize any insurance coverage that could be used to offset liability.

It sucks, but I get it.
