On the other hand, Iowa -4.5

Iowa favored over the Illini? If so, that's OK, for fuel for the Illini fire, with the injury to Livers, this may be the effective championship game. No slight to U of M but, Livers is their best player and, unlike the Illini without Ayo, Wolverines have a quick turn around without their best player.

Guessing he meant the spread yesterday was Iowa -4.5 and I’m assuming SSR had money on it.

We’ll see. While livers is their best player it’s also the position they have the most depth to replace. The CBS guys are saying this injury occurred early in the Illinois game which would help explain why Michigan has not looked as dominant since that game. Livers has mostly been standing in the corner and getting burned on defense. Maybe replacing him with Johns and Brown has UM play at a level between their early year dominance and the mediocre 2-2 record since then.

I’d take the Illini tomorrow and feel confident about it but I wouldn’t called Illinois-Iowa the effective championship game. We’ll see though UM may get blown out right now and then this looks stupid

edit: Nevermind that was a putrid performance and they are clearly missing livers ugh

Double edit: stop posting emotional responses in game

Do not understand, why not go to Dickinson? EJ Liddell is literally pissing the game away, I'm certain he'd done something stupid had Dickinson got the ball. Smith clearly is not your best option U of M.

That is the discourse on Michigan forums right now. Mike Smith is a solid shooter generally but he shot 1-11 today. They waited too long for the ball screen so while they got the mismatch down low they couldn’t do anything with it because the clock was running out, resulting in the step back 3.

Crushing but I’m happier about the game than I would be if they wilted away after being down 13. OSU shot lights out, got virtually every loose ball in the game while Michigan was missing Franz for most of the second half and still only lost by 1.

I think they showed enough to keep their 1 seed even if Iowa or Alabama win their tourneys. If a blowout loss was their only point of reference for a post-Livers Michigan I would have been at least a little concerned that the committee dropped them due to the injury a la Kenyon Martin

Meanwhile Ohio State had horrific collapses 3 straight days and survived them all. Horseshoe stuck up their ass

I very rarely watch basketball, especially college basketball, and I have absolutely no ability to judge talent but the best player in college basketball sure looks like a big slow dope.

That's kind of a mean thing to say about Ayo Dosunmu.

Ha, ha squawkeyes garbage 3 PT didn't count, Illini just far better than them, they were always on the verge of running away from them.

Frazier knocking that Bohannon attempt back in his face must have been sweet for him. Think it was Frazier freshman year in which the squawkeyes set a BTT 3 point shooting record vs. the Illini.

So, Illinois is finally really good again. Just a long decade and a half.

The combination of Weber and Groce really set the program back, Weber - good coach who couldn't use 2005 to cash in on the recruiting trail, Groce - neither a good coach nor recruiter.

Don't know how this is going to translate to the next level, didn't realize how much he swings those elbows -

I think Garza' biggest strength is the three ball, he can draw opposing big's out the paint thereby opening it up. Probably won't be a bad at rebounding either, with his size, mass and smarts he'll do OK on the boards. Kofi's more athletic, if he can develop a three ball and little jumper, he's looking at the first round for certain.

Iowa sucks.

It's BS that he can get away with that horsefeathers, but we had that weak ass flagrant called on us to let them back into the game.

And those squawkeye fan are still bitching about the officiating, face it squawkeyes, the Illini are simply stronger, faster, better than you.

Really thought the Illini we're going to bury them, give OSU credit but, I think the Illini let up a bit. Plus Washington couldn't miss seems for the whole horsefeathering tournament. Hey, Juwan who's the Big Ten Champions?

Strange flex since they both are. Stop making me dislike the Illini. I caught myself almost rooting for Ohio State today and had to remind myself that I generally like the Illini and I hate Ohio State. Being an innocent bystander in this Michigan hate fest by Illini fans is frustrating since I just want to enjoy my team

It's my dislike of Juwan Howard seemingly ducking those games and dissing Northwestern and Maryland along the way. I don't believe he's this sanctimonious great guy the media falls all over themselves to portray either, I'm probably wrong. It's just my irrational hatred of the Fab Five coming through.

No he’s not. I think he’s a good dude but can let competition get to him. I do think there was some gamesmanship for not returning for Illinois game and not rescheduling the other games but it was already a brutal enough stretch that our best player had a stress fracture injury that will likely torpedo our season.

Didn’t realize there was a lingering hate for F5, especially one of the players that was not found to receive money but everyone has their reasons
