BC, why does it have to be BC

Perhaps I'm dabbling in overconfidence but I'm glad it's BC. While none of the players were alive for that game, one click on YouTube and they can see what happens if you screw around and enjoy the hype too much.

I fully expect Indiana to lose to MSU with what I’ve seen in the league so far.

MSU is kind of weird, cannot imagine everything going as wrong as it did in our 2 losses. Yet, I cannot imagine everything going as right as it did in the Michigan game. I think I am going to bet Sparty, which I rarely do. I suspect the spread is going to go up from 9

Damn that was a glorious evening, sitting in the student section and rushing the field while a bunch of girlfriends consoled their wailing boyfriends, who probably all voted for Trump twice.

SEC games are going to start dropping. Auburn/Mississippi State is gone, and LSU/Bama might be next. Apparently a Halloween party involving LSU players resulted in an outbreak.

Coach O told me they all had it already

But daily testing!

Yeesh. Not sure you're actually understanding what's happening here. There are currently only 2 players and 1 staff member on Texas A&M's team who have tested positive for Covid. However, due to contact tracing policies, those players deemed to have been "contact traced" must quarantine for 14 days. There is no way to test out of being contact traced. You have to be out the full two weeks. However, the player who tested positive can be back as soon as they test negative (due to it running its course or due to a false positive).

The way they determine whether they have to postpone a game varies by league. In the SEC there have to be 53 scholarship players available to play and then it is determined by position. A team must have one quarterback, seven OL (including one center), and four defensive linemen in order for the game to be played.

Another aspect of this is that injuries and suspensions factor into your positional count as well. It’s my understanding that the Mizzou and Georgia game isn’t happening because of contact tracing among the OL, a couple of injuries, and one suspension. Apparently they have 7 OL to play the game but their center threw a punch last week and is suspended for the first half. Had he not thrown that punch the game would have likely been played.

There are some rumblings that LSU intentionally listed guys as injured at a key spot (QB) to avoid playing Alabama this week. A couple of SEC coaches have thrown some shade at LSU about it during their press conferences this week (though clearly not mentioning LSU by name)

Utah/UCLA and Cal/Arizona State were both canceled, and there are reports that Cal may play UCLA this Sunday since both those teams appear to be in the clear COVID-wise right now.

Thank you to Penn State for making Michigan’s season look less disappointing by comparison

They’ve had some key injuries (and their best defensive player opted out of the season), but this is inexcusably bad

IU looked pretty meh offensively today, despite pretty good yardage thru the air. The defense was dominant and shut out Michigan St, who really didn't ever get all that close to scoring. They did get shutout themselves in the 2nd half, and had their first failures in the red zone all year with an INT, two turnovers on downs, and kneel downs. So, got that stuff to clean up. But 4-0 with the biggest game in program history on deck.

On Reddit they were discussing how if there was to be a “random” COVID outbreak to prevent this game from being played and both teams won out, IU would hold the tiebreaker due to the record of out of division opponents and go to Indy.
