It seems inconceivable to me that there are 4 teams with a worse BA than the Cubs. They lead in SO's which I guess makes it seem worse but I feel like I here "Strike right down the middle" 13 times a game.

I guess we should go ahead and fire the hitting coach. Probably isn’t the problem but he’s definitely not helping. Almost every single one of their best hitters coming into the year are having the career worst years and while you can point to the weirdness of the pandemic season and/or the small sample size, it seems like the Cubs drop is larger than what other teams are experiencing.

So first of all awesome rally Cubs.

 

But if Kimbrel blows the game, this would be a masterpiece of suck from Ross.

 

1) Has Wick try to pitch a second inning in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game yesterday even though Jeffress is warmed up

2) Finally brings in Jeffress in an almost impossible situation especially for a low K pitcher, which predictably doesn’t work out

3) Now tonight Jeffress is presumably burned for this game where they actually need him to close it out

Resting Rizzo so Bryant would miss a pop up leading to 2 runs so Rizzo could get a PH single to make Heyward hit a take the lead bomb of Hader in the 9th was perfection.
