Hate the ending, but a great Pels/Jazz game to restart the season. I’m still not missing fans during sports broadcasts.

Not even a LeBron fan, but that dunk was one of the best in the flow of the game dunks I’ve ever seen. It was a Eurostep down the lane to pass the defense then Karl Malone dunk to finish.

Also, is Milwaukee actually known as “Cream City”?

It allegedly is, nobody knows it or calls it that though. I went to college in Milwaukee and one of my gen ed classes was a history of Milwaukee course basically. A lot of the original brick to build buildings in the city was “cream city brick” and hence the “cream city”* nickname. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

*Living in Wisconsin for 32 years I’ve never actually heard anyone refer to Milwaukee as “cream city” and basically forgot it was a thing until the Bucks started wearing these jerseys.

I'm surprised no one brought this up. I think it will end badly and I don't believe any big name FAs want to play for Thibs. I don't even think his defensive schemes are that impressive anymore. The NBA has changed since his days coaching the Bulls.

I don’t dislike the Pelicans at all, but I think it’s kind of funny that everyone assumed that the NBA brought 22 teams to try to get Zion into the playoffs and the Pels were one of the first teams eliminated from the hunt.

This is probably the wrong angle to take of such a significant and unprecedented move by the Bucks......but interesting decisions to be made by OKC and the Lakers. If they boycott tonight, could risk Westbrook coming back for Houston and Lillard coming back for the Blazers, respectively. Probably won't matter much for the Lakers ultimately, but 2-2 for OKC/Houston a boycott tonight could really flip that series.

FWIW, I think both teams would have to agree to a boycott because I think the Magic just got a game 5 win as the Bucks were given a forfeit.

Apparently the Magic are declining to accept the forfeit.

They won game 1.

Yes, hence why this is Game 5 and not 4 mathematically speaking.

the lakers and clippers have "voted" to cancel the season, whatever that means. sounds like this season isn't going to finish.
If the season just ends, what change are they actually affecting? And what can the league possibly do to convince the players to change their minds? I can't reconcile what the right course of action is, and what the endgame is for this scenario.

It will cost the owners tons of Tv money. All the players lose is their playoff shares? Could be wrong.

Edited, only the Lakers and Clippers voted to strike the season. Other teams voted to continue

Since the cap is tied to revenues it’s more than that with the virus shutdown and uncertainty going to next year. The cap is going to go down quite a bit the next year+. Silver basically said so over the shutdown/before the bubble start up. Something along the lines of “things are going to get tough and hard decisions and talks are coming.” In terms of where the LT is going to be in coming years.

Tatum got hosed by the refs with just over a minute to go in Celtics v Raptors. They still are going to win, but that was a BS foul call and a BS technical.
