I decided to withhold judgement on Michigan's game against Penn State until I see how they respond this week against ND. It was promising that Michigan outplayed PSU most of the game on the road, but they lost the game because of stupid blunders that shouldn't be made. Either way it was an encouraging step, but if they go out and get pantsed at home against ND then both games were huge disappointments.

I have no idea if that makes sense, but thats how I've reconciled it in my mind.

ND doesn't have anyone like KJ Hamler on their team (with experience, anyway - Braden Lenzy could be that guy but he's barely done anything yet), so that should help.

I'd like to believe this will be an easy ND win - ND had an open date before the game while Michigan was on the road, Shea Patterson sucks against pressure and ND has a really good defensive line - but who am I kidding? The Irish have lost 7 of 8 in Ann Arbor, and this is going to be a dogfight.

So LSU has the ball with 2:31 left and Auburn has no timeouts. LSU runs the ball and gets a first down but holding is called on the offensive line so it gets pulled back to 1st and 20. This was at the line of scrimmage and not way downfield. However, the clock starts after the play which allows LSU to kill off the clock even though they didn’t get a first down.

Why does the clock run there? Is it because they got a first down on the play even though it got called back? Even that doesn’t make sense.

One of the worst DPI calls I’ve seen negates an INT and brings ND off the mat. They hadn’t had a 1st down since the 1st quarter and all the sudden come to life and score a TD. Blah

B1G refs made sure to even that out with a bad (not as bad as the one on you) PI on Crawford on 3rd down that led to a TD. Obviously it did not remotely matter.

Tonight was the symbolic end of Brian Kelly at ND. He's not going anywhere and he might even have another couple of good seasons, but he's never living this down, getting horsefeathering destroyed by a Michigan team that isn't even that great when an easy 11-1 season was sitting right in front of him. Absolute travesty, this 'performance'. I'm glad Herbstreit called them on the carpet for the no-show.
