Great introduction and he gave good answers. I think we'll get a good boost switching from Maddon to Ross next season. Definitely more accountability and criticism of players on the team. I like this hire a lot now.

leave it to derwood to avoid twitter but check in on the only somehow-worse-than-cubs-twitter groups of cubs fans

I didn't even check in. I was told by a friend who frequents the dregs of Cub boards and reports back

Is... is this supposed to be better?

I like Green the most of these names but guessing Farrell has the inside track with his connections to Theo and Jed.

this front office and coaching staff is almost exclusively mayo boys, they need some diversification

These were quotes from the article when the Padres hired Green. That seems to check a lot of boxes on things they want to move towards. Better preparation, more using and understanding of metrics, shifting, etc.

“He's an aggressive manager and I know now that when we play San Diego, they are going to be well prepared," Hale said. "One of the things he's really good at is exposing other teams' weaknesses..... Green, regarded by his peers as well-spoken, intelligent and confident, is also adept at advanced metrics. He worked with the team's infielders and, specifically, handled all the team's shifting efforts.”

Ross means business, kicking out former teammates from his staff.

Just one of the many teammates who hated his ass

Clearly asserting dominance early. Ross on day one of Spring Training.
