Maybe Rizzo is a better option to bat first to start every game than Tony horsefeathering Kemp.

Idk, gonna have to let it play out and see what the numbers bear out.

Dunno why but this made me want to look this up:

OPS by spot in the order this year

.651

.903

.858

.870

.962

.728

.718

.770

.506

Geez....we can argue the merits of proper lineup construction all day but I have to believe that this has had a bad effect on the offense this season.

Anyways, OPS by player as a leadoff hitter:

Rizzo - 1.413 (9 PA before today)

Schwarber - .825 (253 PA)

Happ - .708 (9 PA)

Zobrist - .687 (92 PA)

Descalso - .576 (51 PA)

Heyward - .554 (147 PA)

Baez - .542 (8 PA)

Almora - .504 (68 PA)

Garcia - .125 (16 PA)

Russell/Contreras/Bote/Kemp/Caratini and a plethora of pitchers who hit 1st due to double switches - .000 OPS in 23 PA

You guys are all forgetting about the biggest concern right now: what is the costume theme for the plane ride home?

Milwaukee wins, so for the moment this team does not hold a playoff spot.

I'd gripe about Miami not showing up for the series but it wouldn't matter if the Cubs did better than winning 2 out of 7 games against Milwaukee the last 2 weeks.

No matter how shitty this team is doing I can't stop following them even when i want to. This post has nothing to do with today's game (yet).

Glad we play before Brewers-Cards on Fri and Sat. If the Cubs win, I’ll probably root for Milwaukee. If we lose then I root for St Louis.

Ideal scenario for me is the Cubs sweep the Pirates and the other series goes 2-1.

You guys know this team is going to crash in a spectacular and painful fashion right?

It already has.

There may be an encore or two to this concert.
