I don't know if this says more about me or the Cubs but my batting average in turning off a game knowing we aren't gonna win and then that game getting even worse is pretty damn close to 1.000 this year.

Nats are a good team and on a heater, we were due for a stinker game (especially at home). Would rather it be a blow out than like a 4-3 loss. Oh well, go get em tomorrow. Go Rockies and D’backs!

I realize you are talking about this most recent hot stretch of offense, but the Nats have been on a heater for a while. They are 52-26 since their shitty start.

ETA: Which is even crazier considering their craptastic bullpen.

Yeah, I was surprised when he seemed to be earlier trying to boil it down like they have only just gotten good recently. They've been playing at something like a 105+ win pace for a long time.

Oh I’m not trying to dismiss them, I think they’re the best team in the East. They’ve been good for a while, the offense has been especially ridiculous for 2 weeks though.

OK, who ISN'T going through some kind of horsefeathers patch on the team right now? Rizzo?

The Artist.

Man, that guy is so good and healthy I forgot he was a Cub.

We need a good outing from Q tomorrow. The Ross guy isn't a good pitcher but has been pretty good lately. Have no faith in the Hamels Strasburg game.

Definitely the fewest days of wind blowing out at Wrigley than I can remember this summer. Looks to be blowing in again the rest of the weekend.

With our pitching staff, I think that is a good thing.

With our offense, it's not as good a thing.

That's really too bad.

I feel like whenever these things happen the teams flying in end up dominating the next day.

Good call

I think I once learned that the impact is actually felt the following day (I might be making this up or not remembering correctly), so I'm projecting a win on Saturday if we are able to actually score a few runs.

I'm sure the Cardinals hottest pitcher (Flaherty) going against a guy with a 6.55 ERA for the Road Rockies will turn out in our favor right?

Tomorrow’s game is massive. Strasburg and then virtually no chance the road Cubs win a series at Citi. Cards could be looking at a multi-game lead by next weekend.

We’ve oddly done well in games vs deGrom and Syndergaard since the 2015 CS I feel like.
