The Cubs have not won road games on back to back days since April 30-May 1st against Seattle. They did win consecutive road games on July 4th and July 6th against Pittsburgh/White Sox but there was an off day in between so the previous sentence is a bit cherry picked to make the Cubs seem slightly more futile on the road. Either way, that PIT/CWS 2 game win streak is the only road win streak of any amount since 4/30-5/1 (and technically won the first game of their next road trip on 5/14)

Keep Heyward at the top until he slumps. He'll turn back into a pumpkin eventually, but let's not waste his good play down in the 6/7 hole

Castellanos should be hitting 7th, hopefully he gets hot

I mistakenly thought Flaherty was a lefty...if that were the case, hitting 2nd is great. But again a righty, I'd rather have him hit lower too.

Yeah, this a dumb spot to hit him against a RH, especially when Contreras is in the freakin' lineup.

Uh, maybe Castellanos was hitting against nothing but righties the last month?

Last 7 days: .063 .063 .125 .188

Last 2 weeks: .190 .190 .381 .571

Last 4 weeks: .226 .253 .405 .658

(87 PA) (A whopping 3 walks to 22 strikeouts)

Yikes.

Saw that. I'm hoping he had just checked out mentally. He made some comments that certainly point to being frustrated with the team and the cavernous ballpark.

But yeah those numbers are disgusting. He shouldn't bat 2nd against RHP at all.

Yeah he should be flipped with Willy vs righties in this lineup and maybe behind Schwarbs down there (or Happ should just be playing over him more often than not vs them).

...but how does he do in St. Louis?

So nice for the schedule makers to allow this game to start a whole hour earlier since they have to fly home and play a day game tomorrow.

The Brewers will get there before us and they are coming from the west coast

Man KB is struggling lately

Yeah, .227 .277 .341 .618 over the last 2 weeks, and kinda terrifyingly with a .346 BAbip.

And yet that one dude just zeros in on the last 2 games. Weird.
