Wieters has been bad vs LHP for several years but is hot right now with 4 HR off them since June 30th when he hit one off our new LHP we traded Edwards in extras for his first hit of the year vs LHP. Now he has 7 hits and 5 XBH.

These horsefeathers are going to win the division after being a billion games down, aren't they?

5.5 at most...had nothing to do with them anyway. It was the Cubs and Brewers sucking more.

THAT'S NOT VERY REASSURING.

It gets better. Last three games in St Louis. If it even matters.

it is like a mathematical impossibility for a collection of guys with .800-.950 OPS to be collectively this horsefeathering terrible.

A non-Cubs fan friend just pointed this out before the game.

It's crazy. I look at tonight's lineup with Costellanos now added, and it looks imposing on paper. It looks pretty damn deep. But then they just don't do anything if they don't hit home runs.

The 4 stars all just can’t be slumping at the same time, it’s that simple. KB, Rizzo, Javy and Willy can’t be running ~50 wRC+’s all at the same time for 2+ weeks.

Who is pitching tomorrow? The pushed Q to Saturday.

Cubs site still has Q tomorrow, TBD (but likely Hamels) Saturday, Yu Sunday.

Sorry. Thought it just showed only Q on Saturday.

Bryant is like a fragile little swan. The minute he tweaked the knee you could see this coming.

I know I’m the irrational, optimistic, prognosticator around here 99% of the time. But I think we sweep the vaunted Brewers this weekend and are up 2 games or more on the Cardinals by next Sunday.

Then we go on the road again and it is lather rinse repeat.
