did kimbrel throw harder than 95 last season?

I think he threw 97 and 98 in his first outing. Not 100% on that though.

i know, that's why i'm asking. he's only been 95 since then.

you know you messed up when joe is actually holding you accountable

Let’s not act surprised that Addison Russell doesn’t hold himself accountable for something he did wrong.

Not defending the guy by any means, but this one doesn’t sit as bad as Javy’s decision a couple weeks ago. The one where Rizzo started what should have been an inning ending 3-6-3 double play, but Javy inexplicably threw home trying to get the runner while double clutching the throw allowing the tying run to score

We're now 10-22 when Russell starts, 35-21 when he doesn't.

I think this is more indicative of the loss of Zobrist than the addition of Russell. Russell has mostly been great on the defensive end (At the pace he's on, he's gonna lead all 2B in defensive runs saved by a wide margin) and his bat has look good enough before and after he hurt his hand. Descalso on the other hand actually hurts you on both sides.

I don't think it was as bad as Baez getting two singles on balls off the wall either. Baez has to be a team leader in times like these and pimping balls to the wall and only getting singles is really bad optics for a team struggling.

Russell currently has a defensive WAR of 0.07 and is on pace for his worst defensive WAR as a Cub. In fact, his defensive WAR has gotten worse each year he’s been here.

I just really don’t see how things get much better while Theo is here. The league seems to have passed him by, hard. And the man is as capable of admitting a mistake as Russell.

I mean, what’s the hope? That we’ll sign a couple big FA next year? That should go well. Are we waiting for Hoerner and....Brennan Davis? to save us?
