Nothing about that proposal makes sense. New stadiums both places? Even if Tampa's now doesn't have to have a roof because they're not playing in Tampa during the hot part of the season, how is that more feasible than building one? What's the team name? Where do you play the playoff games? How is the TV stuff figured out?

Just move to Montreal if that's what you're going to do. Seems like the fans there want that and clearly Tampa's stadium situation isn't going to improve.

I think this is more or less a way to either try to extort Tampa for a new stadium or testing the waters for a potential move to Montreal. It's just a silly and ridiculous proposal that it can't be meant to be real.

Don’t like it as it will really skew home/road splits.

CarGo suddenly got a semi at the thought of his godforsaken career being prolonged a few more years.

I want this to actually happen just for the off chance they win the WS and then have to figure out things like where to have the parade.

Or play the [expletive] games.

Please call them the Montreal Rays so I can use the anagram "Teary Normals".

Yeah, I had the same thought. It's basically letting Tampa Bay/Ybor City officials know that if they don't fund or partially fund the construction of a new stadium they're bouncing for Montreal ASAP.

I'd be happy with this move too. Florida sucks and Montreal deserves an MLB team. It's a great city.

I think this is an amazing idea.

I also think that whatever team has the worst record in baseball should have to spend the next season playing most of their games on the road, with occasional games in goofy places like London/Mexico City/Las Vegas/San Juan/Seoul as home games. Or just the Cardinals could do that. Whatever.

I am in favor of this plan on one condition:

They have to field a completely different team in Montreal from the team in Tampa.
