Stupid time, stupid team. Stupid club for jerks.

Bedrosian will pitch ~2 innings, then give way to Cahill who is bad again like he's been most of his non-Cub career.

Lester has been about as bad as me throwing left-handed his last 3 starts

D Fletcher ® SS

M Trout ® CF

A Pujols ® 1B

T La Stella (L) 2B

C Puello ® LF

J Lucroy ® C

K Calhoun (L) RF

T Ward ® 3B

C Bedrosian ® P

K Schwarber (L) LF

K Bryant ® 3B

A Rizzo (L) 1B

J Báez ® SS

C González (L) RF

W Contreras ® C

J Heyward (L) CF

A Russell ® 2B

J Lester (L) P

La Stella has gone 10 games without a HR which is his record as an Angel, and we get to face Mike Trout after he would've missed this game if it wasn't originally rained out.

In conclusion, Curtis Wilkerson was a handsome man.

The last time Trout played at Wrigley:

(not sure how to embed video from MLB.com)

I remember that series because it was in the middle of our dominant August stretch and it just seemed like we could do no wrong, had limitless potential and Carl was a piece of the bullpen but not at all relied upon to be a setup dude or closer.

Look at me with a straight face and tell me Bryant is right.

Just stop dude. He put up an 1.116 OPS last month.

Ok, great. He then collided with Heyward and has struck out 10 times in 4 games+, while taking 0 walks.

You're right. I take it back. Think we could maybe trade him for a reliever?

I'm interested in seeing how the "play Javy until he loses his limp" plan works out.

When I point out something along the lines of how the Cubs have Baez-Rizzo-Bryant-Contreras and then a whole bunch of trash heaps, there's usually a reply along the lines of, "oh, how terrible they ONLY have four really good hitters," like it's ridiculous to expect the Cubs to have a better lineup. But look at how they play these guys; it's because they know if a couple, or even just one of these guys are out of the lineup, they're screwed. And look at other teams like the Astros and the Yankees have been riddled with injuries up and down, including to key players, yet they're able to take that weight because of how much significantly better their teams are constructed than the Cubs'.

Basically this whole "keep playing guys even though they're clearly hurt" thing is dumb and a bad, bad sign.

Definitely what I was implying there.

yeah, the OF being a problem offensively for the last 2 1/2 years has been a fairly large concern. sure, they have a better lineup than the likes of the Marlins, Giants, insert bum team name here, etc. but amongst the contenders in baseball, the Cubs OF has to be considered one of the worst. shame on us for wanting a team with billions of dollars to put out better hitters in their lineup.

Fergie was really annoying on the radio. He seems to love hearing himself talk and was oblivious to the fact that Pat was trying to broadcast a game. Pat had to interrupt him multiple times to give play by play.
